When they showed a replay of his match winning goal, one of the commentators said "Mannagh is never missing that" and it is true. Who else started celebrating as soon as he got it in his hands running towards goal? Such a classy player.
I did. Knew it was in as soon as he took possession!

Geelong had 18 running bounces to 7 today - and a dozen of them would've been from Holmes' run around the wing in the last quarter. ;)

Holmes was at his epic best tonight; took a mile for every inch he was afforded.

Was that run in the last quarter? (I thought it was the 3rd) - 5 bounces, and really ate up the oval.

Best pressure we've applied all season.

Pressure was insane, pretty sure they wondered what hit them. When you're that aggressive there's bound to be great outcomes, but also mistakes. So supporters just have to ride with those errors and slingshots.
However just watched replay- and whoever said through the game we ease off pressure on the boundary line too much is right. It's not over until the fat lady sings and we were caught out. Should be rectified.

What are they actually like over there? I know Perf's overrun with bikies, FIFOs and saffers but you wouldn't get bashed on the street for wearing opposing colours would you?

Perf's wholesome isn't it?

Generally, seems pretty good around Perth - I noticed lots of team colours today throughout Perth city, and even tonight there's plenty of folk still wearing their teams colours

I've now taken my Guernsey off, but still got the polo on. I don't generally go out wearing my Guernsey before or after matches anyway, as those I've met up with for drinks will attest to - drink, eat & guernsey on just before the walk to the ground

Then after matches I've generally taken it off before reaching the vline train as I just don't trust how clean those seats are 😂

It may be different in Freo though - even at today's game, I overheard someone when it was mentioned that WCE won today that they were disappointed with the news. Another Freo fan asked if that was good for WA though, and they simply said they don't care now days, they're a one eyed Freo supporter and would rather see the Eagles lose

So thinking things may be a bit different down there compared with in Perth itself

Haha, I like that. F*ck the Weagles! I really have to get over there some time. I've never been to WA.

Assuming that BO stands for bounces & not body odouy, Holmes showed himself to be bounce happy today

You could easily tell when he wanted to go on a run - he would bounce the ball before even running off the mark 😂

Kinda reminded me of Saad today who always bounces even though he doesn't need to

Ollie Henry is a player who I was pretty harsh on at times in 2023 - Mr Blue Sky I called him; always plays as if we're 10 goals up, blithely and without concern.

I think he might have taken a few baby steps this year in his evolution; his 2023 was maybe a little more impactful but this year I think he has shown a stronger defensive inclination.

He's still young and he plays a weird position; I hold out some hope that in 4 years time he might be capable of pulling an Isaac Heeney and translate his skill and athleticism to a midfield role.

He was good today, got in front and went up, BUT
Hmmm 4 years plus for that strength and awareness, if ever. Watching him get beaten around the ball when he drifts upfield, and seems to lose sight of it, I'm glad he stays back ATM and happy to see him specialise there.
At times seems to not attack, be floating behind the pack, probably as it's everyone else's job to fly.

I dunno - I reckon Henry has played his best '24 football later on in the season season, from around the Essendon game onward, after SDK vacated the area.

I do like De Koning as a KD though; his '22 season will forever live in my memory as a high watermark for Geelong key defenders.
But even today's game Blitz played defence, which again helped those guys in Henry and Kolo play better football. As Blitz can be the key defender..

Play it Sam I am by no means entirely ''sold'' on O'Henry; like I implied, he seems somewhat of a ''luxury'' player - but he still has a long career ahead of him and may evolve. I don't wanna come across as a huge advocate for Ollie; I hope he narrows the gap between his best and worst games, and raises his ceiling so to speak ... but I can see the potential and he is far from a lost cause.

Blicavs actually did pretty well when positioned deep in defense considering its been close to 3 seasons since he played any kind of meaningful football as a KD, didn't he?
Fair effort.

Yes agree. He's a bit frustrating if you notice he goes to ground easily, and did today. Also he plays on the outside when the ball is contested, so it can look like he won't put his head over it. But he's young, with all the time in the world, great hands and goal kicking skills. Could be a world beater given time. Just patience for us onlookers I guess.

Question.... You have a bloody good phone battery 🔋... or are you charging it with a portable power source 🤔 😉

Only real mistake when deep in defence was that out on the full latish in the match - definitely had more time than he thought

677m gained for Max.

Except for the one time he eased off on contesting the mark in front of Freo goal, leaving short arse Mannagh to give him a look that would pierce iron. :)
Otherwise very serviceable without starring.

This 😂

My battery is shit - I charged it fully over night and after a little bit of use this morning it was on 60% by midday

I charged it a bit when I got back to the hotel but I have two battery packs I travel with - 1 small one that gives 1 or 2 charges, and then a good older one that gives 3 or 4, and it's the big one that travels with me to all games

I had my phone on charge for majority of the first half to get through the game

Was an extremely poor effort that.

He wanted no part of that contest, and threw Mannagh under the bus.
