No we’re not, It’s ******* stupid!
Yeah there really is no way that you can take it too far - its quite possibly the stupidest comment ever made on the eve of finals in any sport on the planet.

What does the analogy even mean? Were the children who got cancer from radiation poisoning decades after our football opponents? Are the innocent citizens who died slowly from treatable burns because the medical help had been blown to smithereens Port Adelaide fans (actually ok that part sort of fits)?

I think it will be:

In: McKenzie, Lycett, Marshall.
Out: Jonas, Hayes, Evans (S).

I'm not in love with it, believe me. But it doesn't matter a **** what it means to me, you, or the gatepost. It's a way to focus the lads, so if it means something to some of them (who knows what exactly), that's a win. It was a mistake to make it public though :D

Port Adelaide appears set to recall ruckman Scott Lycett, forward Todd Marshall and key defender Trent McKenzie for Saturday night’s away qualifying final against Brisbane.
Captain Tom Jonas, former skipper Travis Boak and goalsneak Francis Evans are in line to be left out of the 22 after training with the B team at Alberton on Thursday. Boak, who has been the substitute three times this season, including twice in the past four games, looms as the likely 23rd man again.

I guess if it helps the players play to their best then so be it but will they play their best? Or will they have another 2021esque lapse?? I don’t trust this group, Ive fallen for the hype Port tries to manufacture too many times only to be let down time and time again

People are overthinking this and making it a bigger deal than it needs to be.

Exactly.

The players have been doing this all year, finding a theme for each week and using that to focus their thoughts. This week it happened to be Oppenheimer and this week the media found out the players do this.

The responses to this have been out of context and proportion.

Would you say they have been.....blown..... out of proportion?

Just looking at round 1 stats.
.
Marshall got off the leash with 4. From memory Brisbane’s no 2 or 3 kpf is a bunny.
Dixon took Andrews & kicked 3. Huge effort
Rioli & Jones(wtf) with 3.
Then a bunch of single goals.

Whose going to take Andrews? Marshall?
