We are getting too good. We probs will lose one soon but we do need a reality check we might be peaking too early
How is that even possible? getting too good - how good is too good? and whats the problem with being too good? Isn't that the whole point, to be so good no-one can beat you and you win the chocolates? So should we be playing bad or worse? It doesn't make sense, it hurts my head. Why do we need a reality check? This is the reality, we are good...and if we get too good then the reality is even better..do you mean check to see if it's real? Let me categorically state that IT IS REAL!..and that is good! ;)
Edit- reality check = we're only as good as we are now..and in a long season that can change.)

We will probably win the Sydney game - hardest would be North in Tasmania and Collingwood at MCG.
Nah Sydney will be extremely tough at the SCG (where we haven't beaten them since 99) and their playing some good footy. If we win that game, it would probably end up as one of our best wins in recents times.

True, but they only won two (Freo, GWS) from 5 games at SCG this year - this could be the year to beat Sydney in Sydney.

Having a crack at today's announcement. I hate extended squads.

In: Shuey, Ainsworth, Nelson, Mellen, Partington
Out: Yeo (knee)

B: Sheppard, Barrass, Hurn
HB: Duggan, McGovern, Jetta
C: Gaff, Redden, Masten
HF: Cripps, Darling, Waterman
F: LeCras, Kennedy, Lycett
R: Naitanui, Sheed, Shuey
I: Cole, Rioli, Hutchings, Ah Chee, Ainsworth, Nelson, Mellen, Partington

Just based on training footage I think Shuey will return but Yeo won't get up. Straight swap as the only change.

Nelson to get a free trip home, Brains, Mellen and Parto to play for East Perth.

How can you be too good?

Being too good is winning Back2Back2Back Premierships. :thumbsu:

Your boys are going great guns ATM but footy is a funny game, a very very very long way to go before declaring yourself too good.

That being said if the Hawks roll out the same crap as they did last Sunday, you blokes will definitely give us a thumping.

Maybe a good week to rest Nic Nat,Darling and Josh Kennedy. :p

Not knowing much about a 'knee sprain', I wonder whether playing this week will give Yeo any risk of re-injury or whether it would be purely playing through some pain. If its the former I can't see him playing either

If there is risk of further injury then they will rule him out for sure. We wouldnt be stupid enough to play russian roulette with such an important player this early in the season. especially when we are a game clear at the top.

After going off with his injured knee, Yeo came back on and played another (brilliant) 80 minutes. Surely it's just soreness he needs to overcome to get up this week. I'd back him in.

Shuey is a completely different kettle of fish. He's only missed 2 games and a hammy is usually 3 minimum. They way he went down, I thought he'd be out for 5+. I'd keep him out this week.

He's kinda means peaking to early (well i assume). You need a reality check here and there during the season and its good. Tiger got pumped last year by the crows and you guys got a few belting throughout your good years.

If Shuey and Yeo are both fit then we've just about got our best 22 available, excluding Ryan and maybe Venables.

Petch is an exciting prospect but he's not at that level yet.
Yep agree, Ryan is def in the best 22, adds a spark, class and pace that we need. When Ryan gets fit

(a) Ryan for Hutchings
(b) Veneables for Ah Chee

However that is probably one forward to many ?

Yeah shuey for Hutch and Ryan for Ah Chee is probably our best 22.

Think waterman is ahead of ah chee atm, even if ah chee is more versatile. We can afford to play 7 fwds given the endurance of gaff and masten and sheed shuey yeo and reddo can cover the centre. Cripps and rioli can all provide a chop out, as can cole
