Disagree. Visintini just needs to compete. Our midfield is way better than there's. One legged Dixon and Finlayson playing Ruck robs Peter to pay Paul. It hurts our structure and potentially kills Dixon. Visentini is the only option...and the right one.Yep.
Yep.

Sure Visentini was poor in his debut, but he had no real preparation. He was all but sitting in the stands as the team was about to line up in their positions. He then dominates (BOG) the following week in the SANFL and has been very good since, personally i'll back the kid in to compete.

Except he isnt that midfielder of 2 years ago. Absolutely every aspect of his game is deserting him.

Him repeatedly going to soccer off the ground instead of pick up loose balls is a canary in the coalmine. Either his agility’s going, or McGovern rattling his ribcage has made him reluctant to invite contact, or both.

As per my reference a few weeks ago, if you watch vision of Marc Murphy’s final season, he was doing the exact same thing.

Anyone can come in and hack the ball or fresh-airy off the deck, if that’s what you’re bringing to the table.

Hopefully it is just related to his battered torso and there’s still enough juice left in the orange to keep going with rest, or we might see a redux of the mid-season ‘gone to live on a farm with Dom’ manoeuvre.

Felt pain in his quad in the warm up last week and they decided not to play him, not even named in the SANFL this week! The guy is literally stealing a wage struggling to think of a more disappointing recruit.
Lonie. Nuff said.

Port need to play a ruck for structure.
Lycett - injured
Hayes - injured
Teakle - played 1 game in 2 months so not fit
Visentini - next in line. Young, but the future.

Best available selection.
Is he better than a Lord Finlayson combo?

These are the exact situations when you should be playing a young ruck.

Playing a team we should beat regardless.

First ruck injured/needs a rest to remain somewhat fresh for finals.

Other ruck is injured/already has a line through him.

Next in line is Dante.

Perfect opportunity to get some games into him in this exact scenario over the next 1-2 years and before you know it he has 30+ games to his name and is ready to take that step up.

Will he get killed? Most likely yeah. But the alternative is that we don’t play a ruckman and then in 2 years time are begging for him to be selected as a 22/23 year old with no AFL experience and we are again in the situation we’re in now with Hayes.

Sampson Ryan at the tigers is a good example. Got destroyed early on. Now he’s at that 20+ game mark now, he’s showing some promise and holding his ground as a young ruck when called up.

The only way Dante will get that experience and games, is situations like this weekend. Good selection.

Would have preferred Narkle as sub though and give Boak a full weeks rest. Never know, he may be on the ground in the first 10 mins and won’t get any rest.

selections, meh. It still a team that should win this game comfortably.

I'll flipping spew if we make them look like world beaters again.

Time to finish them off for 2023 good and properly and regain a little a bit of a hold on the top 2, which is quickly slipping away from us.

Why does half this board have the idea that Ollie can ruck? He can barely play his own position, let alone someone else's.

Now knowing that Hayes is injured, Visentini is the best of a bunch of bad options. Your m8 Teakle should never play for the club again unless we're down to 23 fit men.

That shouldve been Finlayson Lord combo. He can also play the position and play it well He just can't finish at AFL level yet

It's a waste of someone of his physical attributes if thats the case

Ollie Lord killed his career at docklands stadium 2 weeks ago. Unless he makes it as a defender I have little faith in his future
Lol no he didn't. A rookie had a bunch of set shots but didn't convert. Hardly career ending. I guarantee the coaches are more focused on the fact he got those chances. Never did I personally think he'd be able to get that involved, but he has shown he has a lot to work with.
