In short... s**t house!

We always find ways to lose games against the Dons.
It's always the same way, it seems to me. We lose a shootout, either at the last gasp, or after being on top, when they flick the switch to vaudeville.

We have to get around this. Perhaps vigorous defence needs to be employed? We must stop them having the run of the field with ball in hand.

Yeah, I have lost count of the number of times have had momentum against the Dons, yet they find a way to win.

We just have to apply high pressure or it will be a repeat dose.

Interesting comment, from past 4/5 games, at 3/4 time Crows down by a goal or less in two of them, led in one and the other the scores were tied.

Nah it was an ordinary call on your part after Rachel's game regardless of who we played against.
Thanks appreciate the opinion, but I'll stand by mine if that's ok.

He's one of my favourite players but I think he's been down for a month now.

I really want to see him lift this week, it would make my day.

Huh? Let’s not mistake Racheles poor goal kicking as poor form generally.

He was the fire starter last week after half time.
Like I said I don't put any weight on last week's game whatsoever.

For anyone, not just Rachele.

I think he's capable of being in our top 3 players at the club, but I want to see a little more, especially when the pressure is really on.

He really just needs to correct his set shot for goal, its literally the last two steps where he is shanking the kick in 2023 compared to last year.

It's not so much the goals themselves, but I think he needs to relax a little and play in the moment.

I think he wants so badly to be great and clearly has very high standards, which is what we want, but he hasn't learnt to handle that pressure consistently. When it doesn't quite go right, I think he's very hard on himself and those sorts of moments may stick in his mind.

If he relaxes a little and is not so hard on himself, I think we will see better results.

I think some of this happened with Chayce early on.

It’s going to be exciting when this young group all click

Reminder how disgusting it is that Richmond v Sydney gets prime time whilst this game is buried on Sunday. And the issue wasn’t hindsight as all clubs were in similar positions to they are now when fixtures were announced…

The AFL excuse of deserving prime time games is a very weak one at best. All teams should be granted equal access to prime time because it grants better exposure to the clubs. I think a lot of it has to do that for money, they have given TV everything they want including scheduling. So they are naturally going to favour the big markets.

Who's on body language watch for Mason Redman?

Another one of these would be nice

A team that just played for one another.

Kicking skills water so much better that what we have now.

People say that Edwardz was our fourth best midfielder but apart from Dawson we wouldnt have a midfielder of that same quality at the moment.

The defenders were pretty good to. Desperate and convering each other and great kicking skills. Ben Rutten just couldn't be out bodied.

4 Wins 15 Losses.

2008 2009 2015 2017.
Going over for the game again this year. Last time 2021 was one of the worst performances I have ever seen. In 2014 I recall Essendon hitting the post from a tight angle. Goal umpire didn't think so even though I saw it from 80m away.

2014 v Essendon 15.11 101 def Adelaide 14.8 92 at Etihad. Lost by 9pts.

2017 v Essendon 12.8 80 lost to Adelaide 18 15 123 at Etihad. Won by 43pts.

2021 v Essendon 11.18 84 def Adelaide 2.9 21 at Marvel. Lost by 63pts

Forward line back then was nowhere near what we have now.

I was at this match, and to this day I struggle to think of Essendon as being any good.

I was staggered earlier in this thread to hear that we have a bad record against Essendon because my brain won't let me think of them as anything but bunnies.

Haha running through the centre square and kicking a goal at full pace from outside 50 is considered a ‘worm burner on the run’? You’re as bad with this obsession as a certain other poster with another left footer in our team

It was a great goal and a tough finish after sprinting 30 metres.

But the kick was a worm burner. It didn't get very high off the ground and went 40 metres before bouncing.

Sanderson era games are fascinating, win at random, lose at random.
Beat Collingwood twice in a year? Yep, easy.
Lose to Melbourne at home? Sure, why not.

That 2021 Essendon game was probably our lowest point in the rebuild.

Not sure, but we’re putting you on the hair.
Definitely if we see a change of hairstyle he's leaving (break up hair)

Also if he joins our huddle after the game to sing the song then that's a strong sign

I'm hoping to see a long, friendly chat after the game between Redman & Dawson, Hinge, Fogarty and Pedlar. The South East Posse
