Yep, interesting indeed. I think Crouch is the only one who can walk back into the side. The rest of them will likely need a series of good games to force their way in. Maybe even 4-5.

If the 1st 3 rounds is anything to go by, no one in the A grade side is going to take a backwards step.
Only reason I’d want to see crouch play for the rest of the year is to get his free agency value up..

I’m more excited by the young guys we have like Berry and Pedlar than I am to see Matt again..

Sick of Matts lack of speed, intensity and tackling pressure and his sky ball panic kicks to no one.. Berry, when he gets 20 to 30 games experience under his belt, is gonna be a gun.. quicker we get that experience into him the better IMO.

Seriously, Matt is so slow its like watching a duck try and run.

Wouldnt care if he took up free agency and we used the pick to bring in another gun youngster in the midfield.

There.. I said it.

Post 617 in the north autopsy v western bulldogs sums up how impressed one poster was with josh bruce. Tex might be in for some artistic license this week if we get the win and he keeps up his recent scoring spree

Really don’t like this attitude.

The team having a win doesn’t mean everyone played well - competition for spots and accountability for performance shouldn’t change.
Agree. Powaa often wield the axe even more so after a big win. Contentment breeds complacency. Continual improvement and innovation should be our motto. Unless you make change you will never find a better solution. That's what made Blight such a genius. He was always looking for the perfect combination and never died wondering.

Feels a bit rough to change a winning team but we are a long way off being a finals side and have to keep playing kids, even if it messes with our structure a bit. Worrell in. Don’t really mind who for, as long as it’s not Butts.
Unfortunately I think the only way Worrell come in is for Butts if, and when, Talia comes back.. and if that happens they will put worrell in for Kelly maybe..

Seems that they are stuck on this “we still need to keep a set amount of experience in there” attitude. Its why we saw the mookay come in when both Brown and Kelly were out.. instead of a promosing young player like Worrell who has shown he can play on talls and smalls.

Thing is.. experience means nothing if your entire 200+ game career has been a below average joke. I dont know why the coaches and selectors cant see this, its one of those wierd anomalies in life that happen from time to time!

Josh Worrell was brilliant in the SANFL yesterday.. he gives me this slightly smaller version of Collingwoods Darcy Moore kind of vibe.. great defending, rarely gets beaten and also has this awesome i’m gonna take the game on and agressively attack aswell attitude you get with Moore.. same gangly rubberman look to him as Moore has too..

Gonna be a player.

I think you will find that Matt knows that his best deal will come from interstate. If we end up with another gun kid it will likely benefit both parties.
I can also see Talia leaving end of 2021.

Would try Worrell out in the Lynch role. We just need to get this kid in. He has a booming kick and can see him attacking off the wing and kicking goals. Has a bit of Greg Anderson about him.

Agree on crouch..

Talia though.. I cant see him moving.. he and his wife seem settled in Adelaide from everything he says when interviewed. Seems like the type who will continue to live in Adelaide after he retires unless he’s forced to move for work opportunities.

And why not, Melbourne’s a shithole.. I’d rather live somewhere else and, it seems, many melbournites are thinking the same and evacuating the place as we speak.. they’ve turned up in their droves in South East Qld in recent months.. there’s Vicco number plates everywhere and the realestate rental and sales market has gone stupid...

Dumping Seedsman is crazy... he works very well with Smith together, and very hard to lock down both of them... if just smith he cops too much heat

Seedsman had a rough first quarter despite touching it more than the 44 other players who played last night. After quarter time, he was excellent, and will likely receive at least 1 coaches vote from Nicks.

So yeah, he’s not getting dropped and anyone who thinks he should be, needs to watch the game again.

After watching the SANFL there's only really two players you'd consider on form.

Worrell and Fogarty.

Thilthorpe might get a run on potential
Agree with this.

every game we hold Worrell back in the sanfl is a waste from now on.

fogs second half when he was in the middle was monsterous. Anonymous when not (noting the delivery into the forward line was horrible).

I agree that Talia likely wants to settle over here long term but I feel he may go the Chadley Cornes path of going elsewhere for a year or two, getting experience coaching at a club and then transferring back here most likely to the crows as an assistant. Depends if he sees himself coaching or not I guess.

Monstrous.....Boy o boy a liberal dollop of mayo there.

A couple of really effective midfield clearances certainly but monstrous....come on?

There is potentially only one change coming this week IMO, but there could easily be two if a player is “managed”.

Out: Frampton (omitted)
In: Himmelberg

A lot of people will want to see Billy given another crack because “why change the forward line when it is functioning so well”, while a lot of others will want to see Thilthorpe as his replacement rather than EH.

Personally, I would be more excited by Thilthorpe coming in, especially against the worst team in the AFL, BUT I just think debuting Riley at AO makes more sense than at Marvel, and that this will happen one way or another some time in the next few AO games.

So yes, Elliott to come in and play the Frampton role against North. Billy has had 2 stinkers in a row so I think he needs to go back and rebuild some confidence - he clearly doesn’t have much left judging by the easy dropped marks we’re seeing.

I thought McHenry was in quite a bit of danger of being dropped at 3/4 time. Did some nice things late in the 4th so he earns a reprieve. Needs to get better at basic footy skills though - THAT fumble below his knees which led directly to a Suns goal, THAT set shot for goal (didn’t make the distance from 32m out) and THAT dropped uncontested mark were all pretty glaring. He also made multiple horrible decisions by hand.

Hamill seems to be nursing an ankle injury and looked a bit restricted to me - he might be one who is “managed” this week. Worrell or Mackay are the most likely replacements if that is the case. Please don’t let it be D-Mac!

I personally thought Rowe and Murphy did enough to hold their spots.

Maybe Doedee needs a rest after miraculously getting through 3 games in a row without a serious injury? Worrell is the perfect replacement there if that is the case.

Bringing the pressure and intensity early will be vital against North. Their backs are well and truly against the wall and if we take our foot off the pedal, we’ll find ourselves in big trouble. They were a terrible side last year and beat us by 12 goals. That needs to be reinforced.

Can somebody explain to me in bullet points why Fogarty can’t come in for Frampton and bonus points if you never mention the word “ruck”

* Tex and Fog have proven time and time again that they can’t co-exist in the same forward line

*It negatively impacts both of them

*Hence the trialling of Fog as a mid at SANFL level because that’s the only way he can get a game now that Tex is leading the Brownlow and Coleman

Edited with bullet points 😂

With your clubs disdain for key forwards I'm worried you're right :'(

I figure they are going to look at experienced KPF's at this stage, but that's off topic.

I'n very impressed with your coach and your season start has been admirable. The crows would want to win this comfortably, and I reckon they will.

Great call... Lynch for Worrall.
Frampton is in all sorts he literally ran around in circles last night I'm not his biggest fan but his inability to even get to contests was very noticeable.. I'd even say at times he didn't look like wanting to be near the footy.

You would be stupid to not pick a key forward, bloody inept list management not taking McDonald, another young mid isn't gonna help your team at all doesn't matter how talented

Okay, it's probably not common news as they have played so little, but we have a solid, physical KPF/2nd ruck named Tristan Xerri who is coming through the VFL after getting injured, and I think he kicked 3-4 yesterday against the dogs reserves in a full hit out. I hope they pick him this week.

The other is a kid they extended by 2 years who hasn't played an AFL match or barely a VFL game due to injuries, named Charlie Comben, but they are very bullish about him if he can get on the park. They are going slow with him and he's not expected to be ready until later in the year. 199cms and has a serious leap.

You don't see many kids do this to Robbie Tarrant.

Based on this and the current list status, I can't see us taking a KPF with a first round pick in the 2021 draft, and I reckon we will try to trade for one.

Of course, if one jumps off the page down the order, then naturally you pick him.

Only 1 change, Thilthorpe in for Frampton

Murray to play SANFL and Fog as the sub

Yes to everything bar Fog being the sub.

If Fog isn't in our best 22, he can develop his midfield craft in the SANFL.

Can somebody explain to me in bullet points why Fogarty can’t come in for Frampton and bonus points if you never mention the word “ruck”

Point 1: Riley Thilthorpe.

Why bother with Fog when there is a better option in the shed for the young developing KPF role. Especially as Fog looks rather good in the midfield.
