Rozee officially ruled out. Ebert clear to resume, Motlop a test. Williams with a 3-4 week groin injury.

I'd bring Ebert in for Sutcliffe. Motlop for Farell if he gets up.

Anybody who thinks Sutcliffe was serviceable against Richmond has just had their standards lowered. He offered nothing, as usual. His direct opponent Nick Vlastuin led the Champion Data ranking points for Richmond. And his awful set shot was the turning point that eventually got Richmond back into the game in Q3.

Shouldn't play for us on Friday, or ever again.
Yeah i tend to agree with this.

Sutcliffe played a nothing game really. I'd much prefer we put some games into Bergman or Mead than a 28 year old that looks like he is 48

I'm in no way a Sutcliffe fan. Thought he was serviceable against Richmond. He could be used to negate Tuohy's dash but prefer Rozee, Mots or Ebo in the side all day long.
I would have prefered to see Bergman given the game, but I think Sutcliffe was quite OK. Watching the replay, I was surprised at how many score involvements he had - six in total. That handball over the back of his head to Ladhams for the first goal was almost Gray-esque!

But, he is still only depth, and has to make way for either Mots or Ebert being ready.

Rozee should have been managed before last week since has clearly been struggling the past month anyway. If he missed any more than 2 games then that is terrible player management, particularly for someone as important to our future as him.

Sounds like Sutcliffe won’t be going out any time soon either. Always the 1 love child in the team

The club is saying that Rozee won't play because of a heel injury. I'm glad - you don't want to rush him back.

But the estimated period on the sideline is being reported as the dreaded (TBC)

He's too good to risk. Should be a 200 game player for us.
Keep him cherry ripe for finals, watch him come in and tear games apart. What a weapon to have in waiting.

I would bring back Burton 3 weeks before the finals start. Keep him on ice until then.

He is a thoroughbred and we need him come finals time.

The same with Rozee. Give him a decent amount of time off.

We have proven that we have the depth now to cover these spots.

Burton's out for another 2-3 according to the update. That will put him pretty close to the 3 weeks pre-finals. I agree, we need to time it with him and longer term, hope his body matures like Hammer's.

DYLAN WILLIAMS IN PLEASE
Don't count on it. Coaches have repeatedly stressed that he's not ready physically for the rigours of AFL footy. Still pulling up sore from training sessions.

I think we will see Bergman and/or Mead before Williams.
Out for 4 weeks, was already struggling with AFL work load (a lot of soreness I believe)

Don’t think we are much (if any) chance of seeing him this year.

Geelong looking good. Will hammer the saints here. Gonna be a tough game on Friday.

Will be a tough game but I'll back us based purely on a 6 vs 4 day break. Literally every side coming off a 4 day break this year has been knackered by the 4th quarter, and that has been regardless of how easy their previous match was.

Not going to be easy, but at the very least we have to give this game a huge shake.

a six day break in a normal season isn’t unusual.

Good thing about Burton is that he usually finds immediate form even after 3-4 weeks out. Slots back in as if he never left.

I didn't mind Lienert before the Richmond game but he showed he avoided physical contact too often on the weekend. Even when he couldn't avoid contact he was weak. He needs to hit the gym AND find some agression. Mayes for him is a no brainer for me. Mayes has been strong on the contest this year and he's just as good (if not better) with the ball.

Sutcliffe had 2 very good posessions that ended in a goal and a shot for goal, but other than that he looked slow. Ebert for him is an easy one. No way should he keep Ebo out of the side.

I want to get Motlop in this team, especially with Rozee out. We might only get the best Motlop a few times a year but the best Motlop wins games. He was definately playing injured last year and I think he started to find a bit more consistancy pror to the ankle. If he's fit, get him in. I guess it is Farrell to make way for him. I li9ke Farrell but hasn't shown much in the Fwd role he's playing when we have both of Amon and X.

No chance of him playing this year. Wasn't any chance before he got injured. The club has basically said his body isn't ready yet for a while now. He has plenty of time to get going and into his career.

Don’t see what we will be accomplishing by swapping Farrell for Motlop based on what both have done this year. Farrell was fine, and was Motlop in such form demanding he should come back in? Give the games to the younger prospect still building.

They're both similar but Motlop basically does everything Farrell does better.

Motlop was sh*t in the Carlton game and did nothing the weeks before , people are thinking showdown motlop not the actual 1 was average after the 1st month

Most the team was bad in the Carlton game tbh, the win masked a lot. especially inside mids did poorly which makes outside players jobs much harder. Same as Brisbane game you could say defense did poor but really was inside midfield.

Still kicked a goal which was more than Farrell last week in a dominant team.

If he plays poorly for a few games bring Farrell back in by all means or try someone else.
