"I'll sound again a bit like a weirdo but great art comes out of a level of frustration," Walsh said, while talking about his visit to an art museum in Amsterdam. And I looked at that painting Sunflowers. And for a bogan from Hamilton like myself, I could actually see beauty in that frustration.
So although our fans are frustrated, we're frustrated, we like to think there's some masterpieces still to be painted this year."
The Late Phil Walsh

Mathew Nicks.
Nicks still keeping the level of frustration.

There's only 1 player in the side weaker than Sholl and that's Parnell.

The guy is just not built for AFL.

Why do we even bother.

He will never be part of a finals side because he's just physically too small and weak.

Why do we waste our time.
it's got me stuffed?

Yep

Melbourne are a big, strong, aggressive team.

We insist on playing a few pipsqueaks each week to gift the opposition physical ascendency.

If Smith wasn't dropped last week then there's no way he was going to be dropped this week so looks like the only way he will be dropped is retirement.
I know it's wrong, but I'm so frustrated with Gold Passes that I watch games hoping Smith gets a multi week injury just to get him out of the side.

Nick's revolving door of fringe players continues. In some ways I hope we get well beat so he has nowhere to hide.

Tex returning to form our only hope as none of these changes will save our season.

It won’t stop the same revolving door

Nank should have been in round 1.

Not sure why we're not giving Dowling a go given how ****ing shit our senior team has done 3 weeks in a row.

Cook I'm not sure on. Has talent, which is more than we can say for Murphy, McHenry or Keays. We've shown in the past that he gets very few chances though so I hope we just leave him in for a bit. Probably going to struggle with how our ball movement and forward delivery has been.

Cook can kick the ball and one grab it, so leaves most of our list in the dust in those categories

Has some shortcomings but presumably has been working on them. Good chance to show he's jumped a level.

Is our mantra of developing 'flexible' players that can play multiple positions the reason our development is so poor? Like it sounds good in theory, but does it actually work? How much is it stagnating Rachele, Soligo and Pedlar by throwing them around the ground? Do other clubs do this or do they have specialist small forwards separate from midfielders?
Other teams have midfields that aren't vanilla so can leave their specialist small forwards kicking goals - how's that for an idea?

Not built for AFL? Parnell will be ok, Melbourne aren't a physical side ......

Nicks the arrogant flog has left Laird in the middle and moved Crouch to the bench, the only midfielder actually performing the last 2 weeks has been Crouch. Laird is a pile of trash right now, he must have photos of Nicks

Noticed that also. I know the line up on the team sheet can change and often does. But I find it odd they list crouch on the bench when he seems to be significantly more influential than laird.

Maybe I’m wrong but it would appear that laird is more in favour than crouch which just adds to the list of reasons I don’t like nicks.

I'm pretty sure Parnell will bring greater strength in the contest against Melbourne than some of Brodie Smith's recent "efforts"

Parnell is Sholl lite. Both are not upto the standard of Afl football. Unable to tackle an opponent and incapable of winning a 1 on 1 contest.
"Sholl LITE" ... would be a great beer, wouldn't it? Bland. The beer when you're not having a beer.

You could have a slab of Sholl LITE and still be stone cold sober, and blow 0.000.
