Meanwhile Chris Scott manages 2 player this week as well as replacing 2 other injured players.

Our coaching staff are clueless about managing a playing squad & developing depth.

Nicks is absolutely cooked.
What a clown.
Sholl? Are you f@$&ing joking? How many times do we need to see that he's not up to it?

Meanwhile, in his press conference, Nicks said:
  • He's in no rush to play Curtin - but it won't be long before we see his name amongst the emergencies. Emergencies. EMERGENCIES. Wow what a rush that will be for the kid.
  • He didn't expect to debut Dowling this year. He then backtracked, realising what he had said. Tells you where his head is.

What an absolute d!ckhead. Sack him now.

The cynic in me thinks Nicks selection of Sholl is nothing more than him trying to claw back wins by hammering every mature body he can find so at the end of the year if he is 8-14 or 10-12 he can argue the loss of Murray, Thilthorpe, Murphy and Milera were the difference in us playing finals. Its pure coaching for his job. Plus mature bodies means its unlikely his ultra defensive game plan will fall apart and we get hammered. Oh boy! what a disaster.

Mchenry as sub is just one step away from playing the following week.

We will end up with Murphy back before Ned goes out.

This feels on a whole new level compared to Mackays continued selection. At least he was guarenteed 15 plus useful disposals. Ned is good for 8 to 10 mostly terrible disposals.

Too many weak links

Maybe Walker and Rankine can play out of their skins again and haul us across the line...? Which presumably is the plan. Not sure it's the most sustainable way to build a winning line up though.

I would have been much kinder to Mackay if I knew Murphy, McHenry and Sholl were on the horizon.

We're partway there to realising that dream of having 42 David Mackays

Have you llistened to Cornes of late?

Not really, I do live internationally, but he is blaming the players and backing Nicks from what I have seen. Happy to be wrong on that though. But G.Cornes/KG and then Rucci in the advertiser 20 years back would have demanded Nicks head by now, ripped the club to shreds for their handling of this rebuild and the quality of our selections. Its chalk and cheese really.

Berry is the like for like replacement for Crouch, I assume Schol will be the sub

I’m ok with Schol being the sub because at this stage it’s more important that Pedlar and Dowling get full games in the sanfl

Likewise, but I manage to listen to him via Spotify from time to tim on the 5aa post match calls and the guy is a total AFC club apologist.

He basically bins callers if they show even the slightest bit of animosity towards the club.

Sholl isn't an impact player so poor choice as sub.

Just has to be McHenry... probably for Sholl.

He is a club ambassador so I think he tries to keep everything on the up. Its not something he would have done 20 years ago during his time on the sports show. Another interesting point is I dont think he would have done it as little as 3 years ago. I remember him going out of his way on his show with KG to stick with a call and have a debate. Heard plenty of them. Some really fiery as well.

Reckon we will lose this.

I feel the club will be pretty content and relieved to get the win. Nicks reckons we’ve now got momentum after one win. In reality:

We won kicking unbelievably accurately
Carlton copped 2 injuries
Carlton would have won had they kicked a little bit more accurately
Carlton should have won had Owies not kicked the ground
Even in front with seconds left the ball was deep in their forward line

This week:
No Crouch
Rankine and Soligo dominating won’t take Essendon by surpise
Essendon have a strong midfield and move the ball quickly
Only played here 2 weeks ago and will want redemption
We struggle against them
Nicks is a smug useless ********

And with Sholl having the most childlike mature body in the side, nobody can accuse Nick of not playing the kids.
Win/Win.

I feel for Sholl. He is set up for failure. Same with Berry. Neither seem to be on Nicks favourites, so injuries keep them being selected but on a rotational basis. Schoenberg looks set to join that rotation in a few weeks.

Wow, what a time to be alive hey!
