Hill's named on the field so he'll be in. Between Hutchings, Jetta and Karpany for the final spot, probably in that order of likelihood.

Ahh right, missed that completely.

Gotta be Hutchings you'd think, unless they actually go against type and pick Jetta.

I'd rather Jetta as I don't think Priddis/Mitchell/Sheed/Hutchings is gaining anything over /Redden.

This season could get away from us not really keen on the ins but we can't put up with that effort last week. If we can get to the bye with win againest GWS and GC then we can be in good shape for top 4. But really are we a threat I think not hope Im wrong.

What a horrid load of ins. Lecras masten hurn all.given so many chances. Mutimer gets thrown at half forward has kicked more goals than lecras in the last 3 weeks but cant hold his spot. Im.starting to think coach needs to leave

Was excited earlier this afternoon at the prospect of seeing Partington or Lamb in the team. :)

Read team when announced.............., sigh.......................... :( o_O

Thought some more about the ins.................... scratched head, ...........deep sigh...... then .

- Denial
- Anger
- Bargaining
- Depression
- Acceptance

Then the stark and sad realisation that............Captain Edward Smith was on watch.

Mutimer :
Essendon 0.0
Bulldogs 0.2
Port Adelaide 1.0
Total 1.2

Lecras :
Essendon 0.3
Bulldogs 0.3
Port Adelaide 4.1
Total 4.7

Yep, Mutimer has kicked a shit ton more

Partington is probably the only one that could have been in from the ones not selected. I guess they decided there is no point selecting him and then playing him on the HF

Lamb could have been selected if there was a position available

Tough on Mutimer but he is playing a role that he isn't used to. He isn't having a lot of impact so fair enough he is dropped. Plenty of time for him to come back.

I would rather see this season go to sh*t, knowing we are progressing some talent on our list, than keep trotting out the same inconsistent players week in/week out. It's called hope, and I don't have any with what the club is dishing out every week. What's the point in banking wins, when are team can't take the pressure when it matters. This season is cooked, and I would rather get something meaningful out of it, than another packet of bandaids.

It was our Mid that served up a kaka sandwich against Essendon it all flowed from there and has been our biggest weekness for a long time! And what midfield changes does the MC do?
Redden out and potentially Hutchings and Jetta in...... yuk i think i just puked in my mouth. The other changes i dont really care about when are they going to do something about the Midfield? Sick of waiting do something Simmo you campaigner! Anything!

No, I get your point. But you question why I would criticise both Darling and Redden. You also suggested Darling is a top ten player on our list. I responded to both.

Considering the 'whole package' that is Jack Darling, I think he is a mediocre (but not terrible) player with some talent but no heart. He has obvious flaws that will prevent him from becoming more than a role player, in my view. He probably just cracks the top 20.
He would get games at every single club. That isn't mediocre.

He plays for frees and it's annoying, he's not playing his best which is more annoying but let's not claim he's some run of the mill bloke who we are carrying. What he's done as a 2nd forward has been pretty consistent and not many others have done it. He's better off as a third tall but the eagles don't have much else.

Im pissed by this. Its so uninspiring.

barrass commission is a ****ing joke to be honest. fair enough if they're resting him but this is a kid that isnt spudding it and playing a pretty hard role at AFL level and is holding his weight. These are they types of players you need to back in. The only way TB will get bet better is playing AFL against the big dawg forwards. His intercepting and off the ball work is very good but its his 1v1 that need to improve and it wont improve against WAFL forwards. Since Darling and Gaff we really haven't had any kids have an extended run in the seniors. Barrass and Sheed should be main stays in the 22.

All for redden dropping but i'd rather put more responsibility on sheed and Duggan and give them more on ball minutes. Hutchings may be a warrior but he is a slight upgrade on redden. rather see a partington given that spot.

i would personally to see emac, jetta and hutchings cut from the final team.

Not surprising though really, our midfield has been rubbish for years and nothing they've done has been able to fix it. Then again it's not like any of our young mids actually get the chance to the play and develop in their preferred position.

I don't think we can make wholesale changes but if you drop a player like Priddis or LeCras etc etc all of a sudden the playing group realise they mean business.
When Simmo declares during a post game interview that our leaders and senior players let us down and we refuse to make any hard calls then frankly the message isn't delivered with any authority.

One player cut that the playing group would never expect to be dropped sends a strong message that more is expected.

A good example would be Jake Stringer being dropped by the dogs last year before heading into finals after being all Australian the year before.

Exactly right, I was thinking of Libba being dropped because he's not at full fitness which appears to be Priddis' problem at the moment, I mean he has regressed but I also think he's not 100% post back surgery. If it's hurting the team, then why do we persist? I thought we were after a Premiership this year?

I still don't believe Simmo has full control of this list. From the outside in you could start to assume that when he was appointed, one of the conditions of becoming the senior coach, was senior players like LeCras, Masten, Priddis, Hurn etc... are immune from scrutiny and being dropped to EP. I doubt the players play for Simmo and I doubt they have much respect for him when he doesn't/ isn't allowed to make the decision to drop said senior players. They know they can perform badly and keep their spot, they basically walk all over him. In fact when he brought in the "Unity" thing I saw players throwing it around on Instagram in a joking manner which I made think back then that they don't have much respect for him.

Me and you have difference in opinion about the game. Stars need to align for us to win a flag. You might get excited and happy chappy about it. I am looking at the bigger picture. He has to go. I am looking at consistency you are looking purely at results.
Literally the only thing that matters at the end of the day. Especially in a grand final.

Disappointing to see Masten and LeCras get another game, which I guess was to be expected but after all of Simmos tough talk this week, their was hope. Was hoping to see Pridda rested too.

Of those IN's I'd hope Mackenzie, Hutchings and either Hill or Jetta are left out.
To be expected given Masten has turned up to play in all but maybe 2 or 3 games.

I am really filthy to see that Hill is in and Mutimer out. I don't care if it's indigenous round, it's almost like we feel that a token indigenous player had to play.

As for Barrass, I'm not shocked really but his become a scapegoat for someone who should've been dropped like Masten.

On a positive note Jacko Nelson has come in.

Why the hell is FM dropped? Must be so disheartening being a fringe Eagles player. He competed and put in a decent effort, certainly not the reason we lost! He needs a run of games surely?

For the experience of Petrie I'd guess but could have easily gone Petrie for Darling.

Agree it would be incredibly disheartening for fringe players who with little reasoning are made the scape goats at selection.

Well last 2 games they are equal. I win. One guy might be in the team next year and the other might be retired too
