If NN is out do you:

a) bring in McInnes, playing Kennedy, Darling, Waterman and McInnes in the same side
b) leave Slyce to take most of the ruck to himself and rotate another tall through when needed
c) bring in Schofield, using McGovern as the backup ruckman

If Nic isn’t free to play, it’s horse time boys and girls. He’s been east perth’s Most consistent player, and I think it’d send entirely the wrong message to the guys in the 2s if they throw darling or gov into the ruck instead. We want them to keep believing that if they play well enough they’re a chance.

The team itself is going really well too, and I wouldn’t want to unsettle that chemistry, even if it’s only for a week.

Yeah it's not great if they don't get reward for their effort in the 2s. But we will be much less mobile with Frase in. Maybe rest Jake the Snake and bring in the Horse.

Worst case scenario, assuming the unthinkable happens tomorrow

Out: Shuey (inj), Naitanui (shafted)
In: Ah Chee, Brander

B: Sheppard Barrass Hurn
HB: Duggan McGovern Cole
C: Gaff Redden Masten
HF: Cripps Darling Waterman
F: LeCras Kennedy Rioli
R: Lycett Hutchings Yeo
I: Brander Nelson Ah Chee Petruccelle
E: Ainsworth McInnes Schofield Partington

Darling to give Lycett a chop-out, Brander to take the minutes in the forward line created by having Lycett and Darling coming out of there. Good opportunity to reward him for good form and blood him against his old mob.

Ah Chee gets the nod over Ainsworth for the final spot as a result because I don't want to pick two debutants and go too far the other way.

Top call shmiddy,Mcinnis is carving them up at WAFL.Look at Nankervis at Richmond; no great shakes as a ruckman, but a big body who busts his arse for the team.If theres a place available hes earned it!!

McInnes is arguably in the best form of his career (it was a low bar admittedly) so if he doesn't come in to replace Naitanui then it's hard to envisage when he'll ever get another game

Leave the likes of darling and gov to do what they've been doing so well and turn slycanui into slycness

Love it how Daring is in the form of his life but folks want him to play role that he's not suited to. Let bloke have some continuity.

Mcinnis could come in and play his heart out if he gets a chance and could trouble the GWS with sheer work rate and his competitiveness.

I'd probably bring an extra mid for Waterman. It would probably have to be Ah chee as he is an experienced campaigner and can play HFF as well.

I dunno, I think Waterman has been reasonably important to our movement. He's our Lynch Mark II IMO. Possibly in need of a rest though, in which case that plan makes sense.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Weather forecast for Sydney on Saturday is showers and windy
If NN is out then we go with one ruckman and bring in a tough inside midfielder, probably Achee or Ainsworth
a) No
b) Yes
c) No
My d) Bring in Achee. and get NN off free.

I'm loving the way the boys are playing. The fight is back in the team. Loved their commitment against the power. If they put in the same effort against the Giants, they will win, and they will go on and win most games this year.

Same here. Looks a pretty avo player to be honest
Your demeanour towards WCE & our fringe players in 2018 is somewhat perplexing.

What’s changed?

I'd be disappointed to see Ah Chee picked, really don't think his form warrants it.
I’d love to see him picked, because I feel he do better at the higher level.

However I think that selection would shit in the face of Ainsworth who has put tougher several good games in a row.

Tough call for the MC

Ah Chee needs to prove his worth and show form.

He wasn't an automatic starter at Port so shouldn't be with us either.

He definitely has a lot of the attributes we need but shouldn't be given a free ride.

Ainsworth a lock for Shuey I reckon.
If NN misses, which I doubt, then I reckon we will go small (due to the weather) and add one of AhChee or Partington and ask Slyce to carry the rucking load. Darling and Gov to attend rucks in the forward and defensive 50s.
Barrass is going to have his work cut out against Cameron.

The eagles flag their selections pretty simply

Those who get names emergencies are next in line.

Our EMG's tend to allow 1 for every position.

McInnes has been named most weeks and is the clear reserve ruckman and gunning it in form

So if NN is out - McInnes comes in.

The question will be Ainsworth or Partington. I think Ainsworth has been in the EMGs - so likely him.
