I think 3 talls down back can work. E Mac on Dixon, Barrass on Trengrove and Gov on Westhoff which should allow Gov to float.

Well between Shep, Wellingham, Hurn, Yeo and Duggan (named at halfback?) hopefully Port's small forwards will be somewhat contained.

Sad day for MC. The only change should have been for butler and Lycett. Everything else is shocking. Two young players on the winning side away replaced by two old players with no WAFL just walk straight back in.Even Masten played WAFL for a recall. This is why I have zero respect for Simmo now. He is a bad coach guys, just accept it.

Man our selectors really are a bunch of softcocks. I'm sure there will still be apologists but it's pretty woeful, dropping an off-season recruit who looks to have finally found his role and a quality youngster who has grown every game for two clearly out of form veterans
Lately I've found it's the talls that have been doing a bit of damage...
Redpath 9 marks & 2 goals
McDonald - destroyed us
Stanley & Taylor - 3 goals & 2 goals
Lynch & Wright - 8 marks & 3 goals, 8 marks & 2 goals
Patton & Cameron - 7 marks & 2 goals each
Daniher - 5 goals
Redpath - 10 marks & 3 goals
Dixon - 10 marks & 3 goals
McCarthy & Kersten - 3 & 2 goals
And it goes on...
Pretty much every week the #1 goal scorer is their FF/CHF
Of course this will often be the case given they are there to kick goals, but it's been an issue given we have always had a somewhat tall backline.
This week with a stacked backline it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Saw Cole as an out and lost my shit. I'm OK with Redden out but not Cole.
As for Lycett I think the timings right, got his fitness up in the seconds but we are going in to tall. Simmo's done a Woosha.

That bad coach played in a GF in his 2nd year. Finished 1 game off 1st last season, and still in the hunt this year. Not really a bad coach.

Geez this pisses me off, our match committee has a lot to answer for!
1) line ball choice last weekend between Masten and Partington. One was good in the WAFL, the other superb in the WAFL with 4 goals and yet masten gets the nod........only for him to be dropped the next week and results in partington missing two weeks of WAFL footy.
2) redden plays one of his better games as an eagle in priddis's role, and was much more efficient to boot. Priddis comes in, Redden goes out
3) In one our rare examples of playing youth, tom cole gets a run and gains valauable experience as we pinch an away win in melbourne. Mark le cras hasnt kicked a goal in over a month. Cole goes out, le cras comes in.
Someone, anyone, justify these selections for me because they are absolutely not based on form. How are we ever going to build a culture of excellence when we keep continually rewarding senior players with games than for no other reason they have been at the club a while?

I think trying to claim a guy in his ninth season as a young player is the embarrassing statement.
I gave my thoughts on the selection earlier. They weren't particularly defensive of the MC.

Did he get the biscuit?? will he get the biscuit?? that's the big if. How do you judge a coach?? you judge them on their decision makings so you can gauge their mindset and level of approach. Simmo is failing in that department. This is why I got Keys mad when i said Simmo is crap and needs to be replaced even if we somhow win a flag. Why?? he is a repeat offender now with enough sample size to say that he has no guts, contradicts his own selection criteria on several occasions and loves to be stubborn with his senior players. This is a game where I would actually want to see priddis get destroyed by his direct opponent so Simmo can no longer avoid the question.
