Cripps for Waterman. If Hutch comes in, it isn't at the expense of any speedster. It is one of Masten, Schofield or Nelson, depending on the match ups. Our foot speed with Petch, Willie, Flyin' and Cameron and pressure it creates makes it so much easier to have all the other talls in.
In 2016-2017 we had some great players, but we were also one of the slowest teams in the competition. Guys like Mitchell, Priddis, Le Cras etc. were all great players, but all were slow. Damaging with ball in hand but laughable at chasing anyone down. Our one quick guy was Jetta. Teams that took us on with run and rebound used to slaughter us. Even crap teams like Essendon did this.

The biggest change the WCE made at the end of 2017 was to inject pace. Out with Mitchell and Priddis, in with Ryan and Rioli. Add Cameron, Petrucelle, Watson and we look a different team. Even guys like OAllen and Rotham aren't slow. We now scare others with our pace, not the other way around.

Pace with skill to go with the toughness and big man talent we had. It's a good formula. Let's stick with it.

Would it be a good idea for him to play a WAFL game first before coming back to AFL, to regain his touch?
Need Cripps back for the Tigers, at least. We may back in our other smalls this week if there is any doubt about the adductor, but otherwise he probably comes straight in. Quality player; 4.0 against the Pies in rd 3 coming off toe surgery and no game-time.

Cameron's pressure last week was great. He knows how to go hard at the body.He stays! Schoey played on Mckay last week and as i said to my mate "im not worrieds if Mckay gets his kicks in the back half hes not hurting us". For the people calling for his head you must realise Schoey plays small!! Hes a capable mark but has always struggled against the big boys.He is our "Daniel Chick". Waterman is iffy to me.A tad slow and a tad nervous.Cripps in,Waterman out!! Beware an unshackled Adelaide!

Cripps is a top 10 player for us. Absolutely comes in!

Agree. I think at the expense of Petch and cameron, but I'd prefer we drop Waterman and stay smaller. JK, JD and OA can handle the fwd line.

This also allows Rioli some midfield minutes and to player a bit higher so he can deliver by foot i50. Petch can go to the wing occasionally, and let Ryan, JC and Crippa run amok in the arc.

If we're building towards our flag side we are bringing in Cripps, Hutch, Duggan and NN. Knock on wood no other injuries, I feel Cameron, Waterman and Petch are on the chopping block, with Nelson and Shoey to raffle off for the final spot.

This week:

Out: Cameron (when "he applies pressure" is the only thing you can say about his contribution for 4 weeks straight, it's time to go).
In: Hutch
Not like for like, but part of the transition to our best 22 as per above.

Cripps will come straight back in, fairly sure his program was to get him ready to come straight back into the side. He’s super important as a link man but also very capable in front of goal. Massive in for us, severely underrated- I think his absence in part was a reason we lost to the pies a few weeks back.

Hutch will be pretty useful in this week too. Smith is by far the most dangerous Adelaide player right now. Yeo goes to Sloane.

So that means two ins. You’d suspect 2 of Petch, Cameron & Waterman would be the two to replace them.

I’m glad I’m not picking the side. There’s going to be a couple of very unlucky boys. Whoever comes out doesn’t deserve to be. Excellent problem to have coming into finals.

I would go Cripps for Waterman if Cripps is fit. I like the idea of all our speedsters playing at once. Don't need Waterman while we have JK, Darling and Allen down there. I think its a terrifying forward line with

Ryan, Kennedy, Allen
Cripps, Darling, Petrol
I) Cameron, Riolli

Riolli and cripps higher into the midfield

No changes

I saw Hutch playing on Saturday and he was ok and did not justify a recall.

Cripps has not been brilliant in the past when returning from injury and I though Waterman and Cameron deserve to retain their spots. Simpson complemented the high half forwards so assume from that he is happy.
Yeah cripps takes a few games to hit his straps but we have a few games till finals where he will shine - hes a no brainer

My thoughts on Hutch are he is clear best 22 for finals, and I want the security he brings in knowing he can be relied on to do a job if called upon during the game. I mean he is hardly hopeless outside of his tagging role. That’s the hutch of old. Stick him on a FF and he is usually good for a couple.

An available Cripps is an automatic in, WAFL form or no.

Round 3, I wanted him to play WAFL before returning. Then he kicked four immediately, and was in the midst of a career best stretch of footy prior to the injury. We’ve seen he can go after injury, we’ve seen how good 2019 Cripps is, he’s an automatic in.

He kind of is though. Has kicked 1 goal this year so hasn't done too well in that part of the game. His disposal leaves a lot to be desired as well.

Big fan of his tagging abilities though.
