Yeah this is gonna be a hard fought one I reckon. For mine Collingwood is the worst opponent we could have drawn because they're gonna go hard after that 2018 GF loss + the spanking we gave them here this year. If its a close one then I reckon we're cooked for the following week.

I think we were in danger of taking the Dogs or Saints a little easy - not likely with Collingwood.

Home or away, we need to turn up to win (and in some high pressure or high reward games over the last 5 years we have not competed at home - of course in others we have). Whilst I would have preferred an 'easy kill' (if there is such a thing in the AFL), at least the players should have no excuse for complacency.

Does anyone know what rough dates the final series would start? are they giving teams this weekend off again or are they going straight into the finals this weekend?

Our game is likely to be October 3rd

How rich, from a RICHmond supporter... short memory on 7 consecutive games at MCG leading up to 2019 GF, or the greatest advantageous differential in days played this year against opponents coming off shorter breaks.

On a different thread, saw a Richmond supporter claim they lost to Port Adelaide because were coming off a shorter break.

Then in another thread, another Richmond supporter claimed anyone talking about opponents having shorter breaks when facing them didn’t count.

What a nerve.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha good on you champ for having a go. Not really the board to discuss Richmond but Lol yes I remember last season vividly. You're referring to the season where Richmond didn't play a single match with a home ground advantage until Round 12 :) A very difficult start to the year followed by an easy run into the finals (featuring your team lol). I suppose they threw the whole "it's not great to have an easy run into finals" theory out the window in lieu of Kane Cornes VicBias sob story when Richmond went up and won an away final to Brisbane the following week haha

There's a massive difference between any given season where some teams get an advantage during the year (See eagles free kick differential the last 20 years) who then forfeit that advantage for the grand final location where it all works out in the wash.... and this year where you're playing a team that hasn't played a game with a home ground advantage at all.

If you let the facts speak for themselves your win/loss percentage away from OS is lower than Collingwoods. Ie if you were forced into a hub like Collingwood you would have finished 8th or missed finals altogether. But yeah, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. You "earned" your home state final. ;)

Edit: Wtf just realised you posted this on the Eagles board. Bit of a cowardly act I would have thought. Each to their own I suppose :)

And this is the type of thing that happens when you cut and paste posts from other boards onto our board.

Leave them where they are.
It's insane.

I see you have psychic abilities. That being the case why didn't you win the $60 million powerball last week?

Agreed. We have enough peanuts here as it is, why import more?

Spot on. Are you familiar with a condition called Partington’s disease? The club won’t confirm it but I’ve heard it’s spreading fast

So, the loser of the Port v Geelong match gets an extra two days recovery than the winner of the Eagles v Collingwood game. Nice and balanced as always.

They finished top four so they earn the right as far as I'm concerned. We get plenty of time at home before this game - we'll be fine

TBF we've had a longer recovery period than Collingwood, and wont have to do it in hotel quarantine either.

Is it a 5 day break? If not then it shouldnt matter.
