Byrne-Jones - Clurey - Jonas

Bonner - Howard - Hartlett

Pittard - Wines - Polec

Motlop - Watts - S.Gray

R.Gray - Marshall - Johnson

Dixon - Wingard - Powell-Pepper

Boak - Westhoff - Ebert - Trengove

If Marshall doesn't recover from his concussion might need to bring in Frampton to provide a big strong target up forward.
Who’s Frampton ?

Can someone tell me what Hinkley sees in Amon? He's soft, has poor awareness, isn't as quick as people seem to think, doesn't work hard enough and is just a nothing player.

His left foot is literally the only thing he has going for him.

I wouldn't have him anywhere near our squad.

If Hinkley insists on using Howard as a ruck, Hombsch needs to come in to provide defensive cover. Clurey and Houston have looked shaky all season and one needs to go out.

Think dougal was out smarting himself alot in the ruck... the whole I'm going right wait no I'm going left trying to trick the opposition ruck... and ended up... doing not much at all...

Hinkley said Pittard would need another week before being considered for the AFL side.

Not exactly .. he said ideally he’d need another week on SANFL but with magpies not playing til ANZAC day next Wednesday, there is no way pittard would back up for a sat game v nth Melb three days later.

So they may play him this week I reckon

He will play saturday night. moved as good as ive seen him move in a year or two. Ready to go ..

It is kind of strange seeing these two quotes from Ken in his post-match press conference.

http://www.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/2018-04-15/hinkley-we-havent-got-a-ruck-ready-to-play

When asked about the young rucks

When asked about Rockliff during the game

Would only be strange if Rockliff went into the game carrying an injury, but according to Ken he picked it up in the first quarter.

Although that said I've got no doubt Ken has picked some of our "A grade talent" despite them not being 100%. Also suspect he'd argue 50% A grader gives more than 80% B grader.

The Magpies playing on ANZAC day places ridiculous limitations on our selections for the NM game. How on earth are we supposed to approach that?
Which is why it wouldn't surprise me if Thomas plays this week and stays in to play against North in Rd 6.

Hold 3 maybe 4 back. Basically they'd pick the squad plus emergencies by wednesday and just hold the emergencies back from the pies game.

Couldn’t agree more regarding Amon. The majority have a love affair with him on here. Baffling. And you’ve overrated his left foot as well.

Every single coach does it

Calf injuries at Rocky’s age not a good sign. Often the beginning of the end. Expect him to be rested this week.

I can understand if they picked Neade. He's one guy that provides forward line pressure and tries to lock the ball in. It'd just be nice if our other players had the same idea.

So... Rockliff, Ryder, Marshall are injured. Frampton is not ready yet. Then, what do we do?

I would switch to a 15-2-1 scheme, half-field pressure, pure catenaccio counter-attacking footy. The '2' would be any two between Motlop, Barry, Neade, and Sam Gray. The '1' would be either Watts, Watts, or Watts. Just hold the fort, and hurt them with precision whenever we get a chance.

If we can't play the way we want, no one will play.

I quoted directly from the AFL website, so more gutter journalism on show.

fair call, i just heard what he said and it didnt match with whats in that article... I think we will bring Pittard in this week.

I hope we do. Our defensive rebound was non-existent v Bombers. I would have liked for Bonner to demand a bit more of the ball as he is the one guy that can break zones.
