Changes vs GWS

Palmer looked every bit a player in those two games. Another one of our now famous "two games where they look promising and then disappear into the night to the northern blues and or country football"

A bit like how Ben Affleck in Good Will Hunting hopes that Matt Damon will just up and leave without saying goodbye so as to realise his potential, I dream about Palmer and Mitch Banner going halves in a caravan and travelling round the country solving football-related crimes.

I can see Sunday being like 2011 when the stands erupted abusing Hitchcock when he interchanged. Let's be civil and supportive to our players. It's not his fault his performances get rewarded.

If hinkley lets this slip from here it is going to be devasting for the mentality of this club. Last week looked ominously the start of that slide and at the moment im not convinced that he has anything that will arrest our demise from here.

I don't think anyone actively dislikes him and will be supportive. Could be interesting if we cop a fast start and he hoofs one into the stands uncontested though.

I'm loathe to make the point for the eighty-third time, but Freo came at us with a horde of stale lamingtons and Karl didn't pass that test.

GWS are bringing a horde of Spartans named Kelly, Shiel, Deledio, Greene, Whitfield, Coniglio and Ward.

Ah I'm sure he'll be fine.

We can make this interesting. What's a pass mark for Karl this week?

Amon is still playing. Wow.

I’m gonna enter the draft next year. See what happens.

Totally read that as "Amon is still playing WoW"

I was like "he's be keen for the next expansion released soon."

As bad as Amon was last week I feel like Lindsey is getting off pretty light here. He was arguably even worse than Karl.

I guess the flipside is LT is generally much better but on the performances against the dockers there wasn't much between them
Thomas had a few good games beforehand and was even instrumental in winning them.
Unfortunately for us we need Amon to be better for our long term aspirations.
Oh well, Sunday’s will be interesting regardless.

For the record I agree completely with this and LT has provided much more this year than I expected given his age.

Would just love to be a club that simply didn't accept what he put together last weekend. Not saying kick him off the team or forget the good, but he should be taking at least a week in the 2s.

The difference is that Thomas has the runs on the board over the past month with a very solid career behind him, whereas Amon has been a flop for 40+ games who produced the same rubbish that he has done at AFL level consistently.

Thomas will bounce back, can't say the same about Karl.

lol he has kicked 4 goals in 6 games for us and makes the slowest team in the league even slower. The only good thing he has done is get poleaxed a couple times against Melbourne.
Yeah he's done some nice things but have no idea how he's escaped criticism as much as he has. Certainly not been as good as he/someone in his position should be.

You’re not wrong! Amon can’t have a worse game than last week, so by default he has to have a better one this week :grinning:
I put it down to nerves. His first kick (ootf, btw) was a rushed panic heave ho against the heave ho's. It was the others that bothered me.
Like it or not he's getting a go this week but up against GWS ... heaven help us.
As for the message coming out of the club, looks like after months of stodge we're gunna don the 'run n gun' guernsey,
well hold on to your hats v GWS who play 'run n gun' every week ... heaven help us.

Got an ugly premonition about this game, glad they're missing a few but then again Freo were too.
Anyway congrats Jarrod on your debut, with their midfield and our makeshift rucks I reckon your gunna be busy.

Rd 17 and after all the promise hope and excitement from pre-season, rd1 and onwards i'm reduced to fear of a belting.
So Port under this man
