Prediction Changes vs Saints

I hope we don't take the Saints lightly. This needs to be business as usual, clinical precision, tight defence, kill their hope and absolutely blow them out of the park in the second half.

There will be no complacency from this team in 2018.

Sheed always does that. Takes a while after injury to get back to his best. Don't know why but it seems to be his MO
I think Sheed is trying to be more of a tough insider so gets the ball in close more often and that gives him less time for disposal. For some reason he also seems to be trying to get to his favoured left foot all that time...he's a pretty decent kick on his right so don't understand that.

Should things go well next week, perhaps the bye mightn’t be great for us, as it might affect our momentum, we are on a good winning run, the boys are probably keen as mustard to get out there each week and tear it up.

I think we can afford to carry Sheed at the moment and get him back to form. He is playing heavily inside and it's just some of his disposal that's frustrating because he can be quite good. I think it's a decision making thing. He has had a number of out on the fulls and sometimes feels like he has to get the ball out (that horrible HTB against him with no prior would attribute to this) whereas Cole and Duggan sort of know how to get a ball up, Sheed feels pressured to dispose and it often ends badly.

Given what happened to Shuey with hamstring tightness in the lead up to doing his hammy, I can see Masten being rested and getting 2 weeks off which is fine. Shuey can be a straight replacement for him or Yeo if that's who Simmo is suggesting is sore.

I'd like to see Ah Chee on a wing if he has the motor for it, his marking would be very handy. Otherwise Ainsworth/Partington who supposedly have good fitness can play the role.

It's a hard week to predict, just because Simmo has said there's sore people but nobody really knows who he means.

Rest Yeo, masten,
Bring in Shuey & Petracellue.
Any others as Simmo sees fit.
Saints are slowly getting better, we need a super fast start and a return to those premiership second quarters.

I have a baseless feeling that we'll rest NN next week.

Out: NN (rest), Hutch (omitted), Ah Chee (omitted)
In: Fraser (yes, I said it, wanna fight me?), Shuey, Petch

If any of the forwards are remotely battered, Brander will get a go too.

Nic only just had a week off for his suspension. I don’t think he would be needing another a week ahead of the bye.

He is still building his tank - played like 60% of the game against the Hawks.

This weekend: East Perth v Swan Districts - Saturday, May 26, 1.40pm, Leederville Oval
South Australian midfielder Luke Partington won a game-high 33 disposals in East Perth's loss at Leederville Oval.
Partington, who has played six games for the Eagles, but none in 2018, finished with 19 kicks and 14 handballs, as well as seven tackles and a goal.
Rookie Fraser McInnes (15 touches, 28 hit outs, one goal) was good in the ruck, but Nathan Vardy – returning from adductor problems – was quiet.
Speedster Jack Petruccelle booted three goals and athletic power forward Matthew Allen chimed in with two.

Yeao and the Gaffster to get a rest?

Bring shuey for Yeo if he is sore.
Bring Parto for Hutch this week. Don’t think boots will spend as much time in the coal face as Yeo has so that allows partington some minutes in the guts.

Ah Chee has been serviceable on a HFF. It is true that he has had limited opportunity to showcase his wares in the middle, but that's because we haven't needed it. And we aren't going to just gift him time in there for the sake of it.

Sheed is struggling to find his touch. His constant fumbles and slow decision making is really getting to me. I can see a case for him staying to find form, but I can also see a case for him having a spell in the magoos.

Hutchings is a role player and you know what you are getting with him. I think we all knew he was going to butcher that i50 on the weekend. I am torn on him because he satisfies a need, but does let us down as a link in the chain from time to time. Poor footskills stick out like a sore thumb in our side at the moment.

Shuey will be fit and will come straight back in.

Petruccelle hit the ground running in his first game back at East Perth for 14 touches and 3 snags. That's exactly what we want to see from him and that form should be rewarded. Until Ryan or Venables are fit then I think it is his spot to lose.

So I have Shuey and Petrol in and Ah Chee out. Hard to split Sheed/Hutchings but am leaning towards retaining the latter.

Depends on how sore these sore players are. Could see Simmo giving NicNat and Yeo a 2 week rest, given they seem a little sore.

Ideally though...

Out: Hutchings, Ah Chee
In: Shuey, Petrucelle

I noticed time and again, he wasn't taking the first option, and then getting nailed.
He wasn't alone in that though.
