None of this would have been possible without the foundations built and the exciting chaos game style formulated by Buckley.

Just ask him.

Oh wait....

Not defensive, Just you seem so hell bent on age being related to a rebuild , which shows you dont have a clue. Why are you so defensive
Defensive ? Mois ? Lol

Nathan Buckley, now THERE is someone defensive...

We had one of the tougher draws of any of the top 8 sides this year.

Heck, even Geelong, who finished top 4 last year, got to play WCE and North twice. We got them once each and went 1-1 in those 2 games.
It's a FACT that the draw is broken into Top 6, Middle 6 and Bottom 6. You finishes 17th so you play the other Bottom 6 teams from the previous year twice. Ergo, you got a pretty easy draw. But, that's ok, like the Tiges in 17 you made the most of it and Fly and Leppa know how to create a fun, winning atmosphere and culture and it's working ! No suprise there. Watching Collingwood play funereal football last year was awful.

Saying you had one of the toughest draws of the Top 8 is however disingenuous and patently rubbish.

Just enjoy it.

Do you have any evidence to back that up?

Below are the top 8 side’s games vs other top 8 sides (any double ups v bottom 2):

Geelong: 8 (doubled up v NM AND WCE)
Melbourne: 11 (none v bottom 2)
Sydney: 9 (double up v NM)
Collingwood: 8 (none v bottom 2)
Fremantle: 8 (double up v WCE)
Brisbane: 8 (none v bottom 2)
Richmond: 7 (double up v WCE)
Western Bulldogs: 10 (none v bottom 2)

So pretty much only the 2 Grand Finalists from last year actually had a harder draw this year than Collingwood. You would’ve thought a side that finished 17th last year would’ve had an easier draw than the rest of the 2022 finalist.

Are you going to provide some facts/data to support your assertion of Collingwood's easy draw, or just keep it to simple rhetoric?

Great minds...

I'm actually glad we didn't have to play West Coast or North Melbourne twice.

Give me double ups against Melbourne and Carlton instead any day!

West Coast finished 9th last season and you only played them once this season and that was in Victoria in which they won.

Exactly. Would’ve been good to get a rematch against them (they were 1-11 at Optus stadium), or North for that matter, like the Cats did. (who finished top 4 last year)

How 'bout not picking out one off games and instead providing a full assessment on the relative difficulties of each team's draw to support your assertion?

Ok did you play Port over there or GWS at home?

North or Hawthorn in Tassie?

How about a trip to Darwin or Cairns?

I'll gladly own having the oldest team considering how we have gone so far this year.

Even though having the younger team gives you, um.... what exactly? The ability to say "maybe next year when we're more like Geelong"?

McCreery, Ginnivan, Henry , Naicos , Quaynor

How many more do you want

Lipinski, Noble

Define kids?
Begg, Mcinnes, Carmichael, Poulter, McCrae, Ruscoe, Krueger, Johnson, Bianco, Murphy.

So very easily 15 players, not counting J. Daicos, Lipinski or Noble.

How 'bout you stop referencing isolated games and tell us your point.

It seems you think Collingwood had an 'easy draw', whilst Melbourne had a 'hard draw' - is that right?

If so, so what?

No I didn't at all I'm just asking the question.

I can’t tell if he’s extremely witty and clever or extremely simple.

Absolutely.

Who you play.
Form of the team when you play them.
Where you play them.
In game injuries.
The list goes on.

What is your specific point about Collingwood having a supposedly 'easy draw'?
Collingwood played Carlton twice. Once when Carlton were 8-2 and the second time 12-9

Melbourne were 10-2 and 14-5 the two times Collingwood played melbourne

GC 2-4 And then 7-7 when GC played Collingwood at GC

Adelaide 0-1 and then 5-12

Essendon 1-4 and then 6-12. (ESS had beaten Swans, lions away and GC going into that game).

That’s not indicative of an easy draw for a team who finished 17th. There are 7 more wins collectively for the opponents than losses at the time Collingwood played them.

There was also Freo away when Freo were 7-2.
