I'm now firmly in the belief that we need to go all out to improve our list for 2025 in order to retain talent especially Reid.
That would allow us to then potentially become a destination club by 2026.

English would be an upgrade on BW and Flynn. Flynn would be then relegated to the WAFL as he can't be a second ruck.

BW could be traded, or could we train him as a KPD?
Jamieson and possibly Archer Reid could also continue to train as a KPDs.
Along with Harry Edwards and Rhett Bazzo that should cover for TB.

Trade TB - either to the Dogs or Hawks and ideally get a top 10 pick.

Trade for Liam Baker ? our second pick - adds to our speed and a possible midfield rotation.
Trade for Dev Robertson - defensive mid, cost us nothing.

Top 3 pick - elite inside mid with speed and skill (? Draper)
TB pick - elite mid / half back / winger
Draft Malakai Champion

English will be a free agent. That means we don't need to trade for him. Bulldogs will get a compo pick for him. They can trade that to us for Barrass.
If the dogs win the flag, I'm not trading Barrass for pick 19. They would need to give their own first plus the English compo.

So picks 18 and 19 for barrass I would do. Or pick 19 and Garcia.

Dogs don't have a first this year.

That certainly complicates that then

English compo would still fall at where they would've had a pick though right?

If so then it's

Out barrass

In English compo (19) and garcia

Yeah, English compo would go where their original first would've landed.

This off season incoming:

Draft:

1st - FOS
2nd - Travaglia
3rd - Champion
4th - Trade for Dev

FA: English

Barrass for Busslinger and Bulldogs English compo > Curtin

AFL charity picks: Baker & Garcia

Premierships

Not enough for TB. They would have to bundle a pick this year (Smith trade or English compo) and their first next year to get Suns top 10 pick, if they don’t trade it for Rioli or Freos top 10 (pies pick)

Theyll get a pick for Bailey Smith too, probably from Geelong.
They dont have their own pick.

If Geelong finished 5/6th then itll be pick 13/14, add pick 19 to that and thats not a terrible offer.

We can take whatever combo of their first rounders and whatever else to make it valued at a top 10 pick + a later pick

Ideally if the Saints lose Battle and get band 1 they will be a buyer for TB. They have a lot of money to spend.
Are the Saints trying to win a flag in the next 2-3 years though?

If they can buy 2 A graders with their normal pick and the Battle compo then maybe.

I can see them preferring to draft a couple of kids, a mid and Trainor or something

They have had a crack at everyone with their $ but no buyers yet. No top line free agents go to those clubs. I think they think they are closer than most would on the outside. Top 8 last year and if they won some of their close ones this year would be right in the mix. Will need a backman to fill the the Battle hole to suit Ross game plan.

Will definitely have to send some else added on.

Or Fox has GC predicted to be bottom 6 so probably pick 7 in and open draft. Need to bundle up and get that pick rather then spit ours to get in imo. If TB goes… interesting draft coming up

Another strong VFL performance by Jagga who's seemingly stepped up to the level and barely missed a beat. He wasn't quite as impressive as last week, seeming to be more rushed for time and as a result not having his entire game in top order, but even so, we shouldn't take for granted what Jagga Smith and Sid Draper have been doing in recent weeks at state league level. They've both set a bar that the others in the pool will struggle to reach.

All things being equal, i'm of the opinion that we should draft a player that can play as early as possible.
If these guys are already able to play against men and rack it up, they go up the pecking order of course.

We dont have 3-5 years to develop some skinny kid until he can play seniors.

Sam Walsh was pretty skinny in his draft year. Not that dissimilar to jaggar. Mcgluggage too

Swap of 4th rounders, and we'll chuck in Tunstill as well.
Dev would be nothing if he wanted to move on, Fagan would surely have some guilt in talking him into something 99% of footy fans could see was going to happen.

Sheldrick was who is was referring to about not costing nothing, stuck in the same situation really. Eagles only hope of a free hit trade for him is if Swans need his little bit of cash off the books and might need some points in upcoming drafts. Few academy players coming up for them but Eagles now have to budget for that too.

Phil Davis on a sen show with Edmund and Tom Morris valued TB trade at picks 12 and 25
