If we could even do that (apart from GCS and Richmond, most teams wanted to trade up, not down) we would have likely picked a different player at a pick in the mid 20s plus we wouldn’t have had Clay Hall.
Yep, would’ve changed a lot of things. Would’ve 100% traded up though, not many teams get caught out and the intel was pretty solid he would go around then. We would’ve been armed pretty well to get up two picks. Might’ve got HReid/Moir/Collard/Roberts who were linked with late and going very well for the Dons.

Plus most likely still had our 3rd this year.

Kako is a part of the Bombers NGA so good chance we won't get him
Wasn’t suggesting that we should take him, just that he’s the best small forward in the draft IMO. We’ve got much bigger problems than small forwards that we need to address first. He’ll 100% go to Essendon now, wouldn’t mind a cheeky early bid if we split to piss Dildoro off.

Well I guess there is Lindsay (mid/Half back) and Travaliga who everyone is talking about that probably both go first round if not top 10 possibly.

Then after that check out in no particular order and all possible draftees.
Harrison Oliver (vic metro), Harry Charleson (vic country), Oliver Warburton (vic country), Jaxon Artemis (WA), Lachie Jaques (vic country), Lucca Grego (vic metro).
Really really like Artemis, Charleson and Oliver...
The other 3 are also great options.

I'm warming to Travaglia more and more

Will pick 3 be too high for him? I wonder if he keeps climbing

Interesting to see Twomey's ratings. I think he mentioned they'd be out after the last U18s game?

Anyone now see Trew have chance of being in our future? he showed what he could become the other day.
IF he's given every game and IF he puts in effort like vs. Brisbane, and IF he shows composure under pressure and IF he at least maintains that standard and hopefully even improves then he could be worthy of at least a year.
Categorically no. Delist.
On personality and attitude or on ability grounds?

Pick 2 or 3, 23, F2 for 7,10,14, F3 from Fremantle

F1 for 8,9 and Davies from Gold Coast

Bulldogs trade Cats 1st (pick 15) plus their F1 for Barrass + 2X F3’s

Trade 14 to Richmond for Baker

Go to the draft with 7,8,9, 10 and 15 - deathride the Dogs next year

7 - Lalor, Draper or Jagga
8 - Reid
9 - Travaglia
10 - Berry or Moraes
15 - O’Farrell, Moraes, Mraz, Allan, Lindsay, or Langford

Yes, I’ll put down the cra** pipe now

Ability. Not in a position to make any informed comment on his attitude other than to say he looks to try hard.

Although punching the son of the then midfield coach and now senior coach may speak to his intelligence…

IF he’s provided the opportunity then the club could make an informed decision, is more the issue and has been for while.
Simmo was busy pumping games into Gaff as an inside midfielder instead, IF you remember.

There is still a high level of delusion amongst Eagles fans about the abhorrent state of our list. This cliff has been a long time coming but we've been sleepwalking to oblivion. We are a complete mess, and its a very real probability we won't get near finals for a decade. The gap between Harley and the rest is so stark. I rate our core of youngsters near the bottom.

Other lists dont get older and fall off cliffs?

It happens every 2nd season, a team drops down the ladder to rebuild. Its a cycle that the AFL want to see except for sides in northern states driving TV revenues.

What you dont factor in is the timing of our rebuild and how by the time Tassie starts gutting the draft we will have 90% of the list turnover done and Harley and the other top end draft picks will be playing their 4th or 5th seasons.

All players get old and hit the wall. Not just Eagles players. Still plenty to fix and plenty to develop but we are well and truely on our way.

Pretty sure it's Rosa now?

That’s only 1345 points. They would actually need 2234 minus the 25% discount.

So 1676 points for that pick 3.

As it stands the Lions actually wouldn’t have enough points without going into next year in deficit. Hopefully they get rid of the discount and make clubs pay full price.

Remember we have a potential F/S next year and a couple of academy kids that all look at this early stage draftable.
Will be interesting to see what the lions do with Marshall likely first rounder too.

Regardless of whether its for Warner or not, makes sense for Freo to consolidate their picks imo

Makes sense for both teams. Depending where thise picks end up of course.

A pick swaps with the ourples isnt the same as a player trade with attached emotions etc.

Would love Freo to blow pick 2 or 3 on Bolton who I consider soft and inconsistent.

A pick around 9, 12 and 16 for pick 3 and 24 would be a nice spread. Looking at Twomey's ranking we get some nice kids.

There’s no way Fremantle are giving up all three of their firsts for pick 2 or 3, the players they need in the draft are in the range of their picks and even if they don’t want to draft players - offering Sydney or Richmond those three firsts is a lot more appealing to those clubs than just pick 3 in a draft with not much difference between the top 7-8.

Its not just pick 3. Our 2nd will only be 5 or 6 spots from their last 1st.

So its pick 2/3 for 9 and 12ish. Same as our 2022 trade. And our 2nd pick 23 gets upgraded to a late 1st.
