Port need to manufacture better picks. How I dunno but I doubt 33 and 44 will cut it.
I’ll suspect they’ll need to lose a player.

Just not sure if it’s MG, Duursma, Sinn or someone else or where to even.

Fwiw, I’ll do 2 & Rioli for 8 and any of the names above (which Port will tell us to F off).

TRADE RADIO'S LATEST PROPOSED TRADE:

WCE GIVE: Pick 2, Pick 20, Oscar Allen, Judd
WCE GET : Pick 8, F4, Magic Beans

PORT GIVE: Magic Beans, Pick 8, F4
PORT GET: Pick 20, JHF

NORTH GIVE: JHF, no ****s.
NORTH GET: Pick 2, Judd, Oscar Allen

TRADE RADIO'S PROPOSED TRADE

WCE GIVE: Pick 2, Pick 20, Oscar Allen, Judd
WCE GET : Pick 8, F4, Magic Beans

PORT GIVE: Magic Beans, Pick 8, F4
PORT GET: Pick 20, JHF

NORTH GIVE: JHF, no *s.
NORTH GET: Pick 2, Judd, Oscar Allen

That's as realistic (and possible)as the actual one they put out.....

Surely working on TRADE radio you should know the actual rules?

Rioli is smart for wanting to leave, He needs to do what is best for his famoly. Horne-Francis a selfish soft Ungrateful bell end
rioli is a selfish soft dickweed who is ungrateful for whatever the club did when he got caught smoking weed.

see i can play that game too

For me - if we can get 8 + F1 (Port) and MG for 2 and Rioli, I do that trade. I think it's fair. MG will be a very good player.
I think Darling, Allen and MG would be a great combo if we're looking to play a lot faster.

* If we squeeze Norths F1 instead. I'd need a pallet of tissues!
Guessing the issue here is MG.

There’s been enough talk about him coming home that you would think if he was interested his manager would have said hey maybe it’s a good opportunity right now.

Guessing he’s not wanting to leave

The only problem being that Jackson has nominated Freo. And it would appear to be the case that there is a deal in principle in place with Freo that is contingent upon Freo selling the other players they are selling and then ontrading the picks.

The lack of public pronouncements and posturing from either Melbourne or Freo makes me think they have a deal in place that both are happy with and both think is unlikely to hit any hurdles.

We've already said we wouldn't do pick 2 straight up, so they have us throwing in Rioli for free. These clowns don't even know that you can't do your future 1st and your future 2nd.

How many picks are West Coast Likely to use in this year in this so called shallow draft after the first round?

4 in total.

Depends what our picks are. Most of us want 3 quality picks (top 25) and 1 late pick.

Absolutely no point going in with a collection of late seconds or thirds we won't use. Pick 39 used on Broadbent would be the same as pick 70 used on Broadbent for example.

Providing nobody drafts him earlier, but given he's expected to be a rookie or miss out, our final ND selection should get the job done.

Theres a bigger problem in that that trades not even possible (can't trade a future 1st and 2nd

Forget the unevenness or Jackson not wanting WC

I understand Freo might do a deal like that but I can't see is giving up 2 for Jackson unless something else comes our way

Jackson hasn't nominated Freo although it's clear that is his preference.
He's probably only not nominating them to help Melbourne get more of a return for him from Freo, or Melbourne has urged him to do so.
Either way Jackson can probably pull the plug on Melbourne considering any offers from us at any time.

That deal would suck for North.

JHF is a 18 odd pick upgrade?
North aren't going to throw more into the pot, let's be realistic here. They're already losing JHF and have none of Port's or WC's players going their way (at the moment). Think this JHF mega deal does get done but with Port's 33 and 44 going here for Rioli. All parties will be unhappy with it, which is the sign of a good three way trade.

Agreed. It would be on Port to find something for North to get them to give up that second rounder. As i said, it's what i'd want, not trying to help North or Port or make it easy for them.

Port actively pursued Rioli offering a better deal for more money and an extra year over and above what we or other clubs were offering. We were desperately wanting to retain Rioli, at a minimum we weren’t pushing him out the door

Port are also going after last year’s No. 1 pick with a year to run on his contract

Usually in these situations, clubs are required to ensure they’re offering a strong trade proposal to bring in their targeted player. Especially in the JHF case

So what are port offering -
Pick 8 and a future first that even in a best case scenario is unlikely to be below 7 (Port aren’t a bottom 6 team)

That is massive unders for JHF. Adding picks 33 and 43 to that doesn’t shift the needle

To make matters worse they’re trying to bring Rioli into this without offering anything else

It is up to them to provide a suitable deal as they have no leverage - maybe some with Rioli as we would prefer to get something for an out of contract player than lose him in the PSD but there’s still limits on what we would accept

They don’t have enough draft capital to get the JHF deal done. To think they can achieve their goals without losing a player is ridiculous and shows them up to be the utter campaigners they are

Freo think they are in a flag window. I don't think they would be pushing experienced players out the door and selling them for draft picks unless they had an agreement with Melbourne about what Melbourne will accept and were confident that the player sales they are conducting will get them the picks they need as part of the deal. Plus Melbourne are not trying all that hard to get us involved. Neither are the Victorian media. It looks like a deal has been done to me.

Could this look okay

Eagles Give: Rioli, Pick 2, pick 20

Get Pick 8, North future 1st

North Give : JBH, Future 1st

Get pick 2, 20, 33 Port Future 1st, Sinn

Port Give: 8, 33, Future 1st, Sinn

Get JHF and Rioli.
There is no way that North give up their future first. It's likely to be a top 2 pick.

You're basically asking them to trade JBH for a bunch of crap "20, 33 Port Future 1st, Sinn"

I revealed days ago that i received mild insider info that west coast were looking at a pick split of 2 so they could slide down and aim to pick up locals. Many on here lost their sh#t and derided me for saying this calling me a liar even though others who had made much more outlandish claims went unchecked. Since my post many media reports are suggesting the same thing as me that west coast are looking to slide back to pick up locals.

Have you come in peace?

Yeah I don't think we're a chance but clearly Melbourne aren't happy with 2 picks in the teens from Freo, so they are pushing for more. We're basically being used as a bargaining chip since we can offer better picks.
