I can't believe we've have 17 wins for the season, can't underestimate how good that achievement is.

Coming back from 44 points down, certainly didn't see that coming not against such a quality opponent. Almost as emotional as that comeback against Freo in 08. Finishing top for the first time since 64 unbelievable and doing it after the siren un- ****ing - believable.

Just so immensely proud. Geelong are so hard to beat in close games (Scott has like a 80% winrate in games decided by under a goal) and we did them after the siren for our FIRST EVER WIN WITH A GOAL AFTER THE SIREN

I know the Eagles win in 2018 meant a heap but that is just about our best H&A win I've seen.

That tops the Eagles. Tonight is the best of Freo 2009, Adelaide 2014 and WC 2018 with added revenge for both Max’s previous miss and Tuohy’s kick.

Simply extraordinary

Left field question - if the game has to stay in Victoria will we choose Marvel over the MCG? Hopefully.

I know the AFL has ruled out playing them in front of no crowd but when push comes to shove - the SA government locked Olympians in an unnecessary quarantine for 2 weeks. Not impossible that they, and Tassie and WA governments get cold feet about letting in a footy team from a state with hundreds of active cases.

This could not have been scripted. Geelong, Max, almost same spot, first ever after siren, minor premiers again after some 56 years of pain, Clarrie for coaches award and Brownlow, Jackson for Rising Star and maybe, just maybe … a premiership!! It is just a game, but such a big part of life for many of us. Go Dees!

Good
Lever was massive tonight when a few of our defs had thier hands full!
Oliver is our most consistent. (Track is X factor)
Langdon was our best in a deplorable first half.
Captain Courageous wad Clutch.

Bad
Sparrow kicked the ball into the man on the mark x2
Few very quite players Dogga, NIBs, Spargo, Fritchy when we needed him.
Inconsistent umpiring. (All I'll say) go Dees

Longtime lurker but first post, watched it with my dad who was a grade 12 student in the stands for our last premierahip, and my 12 yo daughter who before tonight only ever paid me out for supporting the dees. We were all screaming and pumping the air after maxy kicked it and it was bloody magnificent. Go you mighty Dees!

To be honest before the game I thought it would be good to win the minor premiership, not super important but would be nice to see. Then at half time I actually was pretty devastated that we blew it, if we were going to lose I was hoping that it would be the result of a good battle but Geelong being the better team, not to have the game blown out by half time. Certainly had West Coast preliminary final vibes but at least I could start to think towards next week. To win the way we won was unbelievable, I'm ecstatic that we've finished on top.

Now that I've calmed down..

Good:

-Max Gawn. Herculean effort to get his team back into the game and showed real character under enormous pressure at the end. Our minds all went back to Round 1, 2018 and I'm sure his did too. Love that he got a chance to redeem himself and nailed it.

-Oliver. Was as poor as anyone when Geelong were on top but his response speaks volumes. Think he wins the Coaches MVP and is a real Brownlow shout.

-Petracca getting emotional in his post-match interview. I love how much the Melbourne Footy Club means to him.

-Kosi's cameos. Kid is raw and goes missing for periods, but you just know he's going to rip it up in a final at some point.

- Lever standing up and owning the defensive 50. What an acquisition he's turned out to be.

Bad:

-A 30ish minute period where we completely switched off and got annihilated. Our midfield have to be quicker to recognise what's not working and set up to defend accordingly.

-TMac. Whatever that was, please don't bring it next week.

-Quiter games from some of our younger players.

Ugly:

-The Dees will host a qualifying final next weekend and I won't be there to watch them.

Well it took me until the last kick of our round 23 match, but those lingering doubts that we're not good enough to break the long drought are now gone. This mob is good enough to go the whole way. Incredible self-belief. Still got a big grin on my face.

The only negative tonight - there wasn't a packed crowd of handbaggers there to witness that.

Congratulations on both the win tonight and on securing the minor premiership.

Must've felt good to win won after the siren against us after previously being on the wrong end of a couple; stakes were higher, too.

Biggest positive for your mob surely is that you can actually play a bit better than tonight.

Kudos, too good for us on both occasions this H&A season.

I actually love playing you guys. Those losses in 2018 were absolutely cracking games.
