Tom McDonald and Jack grimes where filth today handed Richmond most of their goals

They only got nine. The backline as a unit is the difference. Of course they make mistakes, but in the last two seasons this team lost 40 games by an average of over 10 goals per game. The haven't had a chance to be attacking players, they have dealt with a torrent every week. They are doing a good job, even if every one of them has made mistakes over the past few weeks. The blue collar no-name defence is something to be pleased about.

Yeah you said he was shit in a game where he got 23 touches, shut down his man defensively and did a great cameo tag job on their matchwinner. But hey he had one miskick. A sensible poster would have either admitted their stuff up or kept their head down. You've done neither.

In fact I think his forward experiment is over and he has to go back so its either Garland/Dunn or Tmac
My Feeling is TMac would be the most under pressure but I wouldnt say Frawley will necessarily get a game

So other teams are prepared to pay $800k for a player that a team who has won 33% of its games this year cannot fit in? Apart from anything else, he is the best attacking backman at the club, he kicks with precision (note almost everybody's bads or uglies are associated with backline kicking), when he goes forward he can be the difference (eg Carlton) and he is a great determined big body. If that is not convincing enough, Melbourne either want him to stay (my preference) or for some other club to pay overs so we get a better pick. That won't happen happen from Casey or rehab. Straight back in. If someone misses out, they need to get better.

Frawley could take the spot of any of a dozen blokes. His magnet will be straight back on the board, they'll put thought into who to drop but not into whether he plays or not if fit.

- Sandy Roberts constantly f***ing up players names, called Howe "Grimes" about 5 times and then called Matt Jones "Terlich" about 4000 times.

He gets my forgiveness because it is not all about Sandy, he likes the footy. Same can't be said for Taylor, Russell and increasingly (and sadly) Bruce.

Enjoyed Sandy a lot, and I normally loathe commentators. Even didn't mind Eddy, he gets genuinely excited about the game and doesn't reel out the catchphrases. I did have to laugh with Sandy's lottery on calling our 3 "ethnic smalls" Salem JKH and Toumpas though

My argument is I dont understand how you ( not you necessarilly ) can pan Terlich and Matt Jones but then praise Grimes
All 3 of them do a job with intensity and all 3 absolutely kill us with turnovers

Im all over Grimes because its not popular opinion yet, If it ever becomes that then Ill back off because I enjoy not having the easy opinion

FWIW Grimes was excellent against Adelaide with his intercept marking but Howe seems to have taken that Role so I think they are still tinkering with what Grimes best exact role is
Ill put my hand up and say I didnt really notice any tagging jobs so if he was able to shut down Martin then he deserves plaudits

He makes so so so many poor decisions that IMO he will go when Matt Jones and Dean Terlich are also able to be replaced

I watched the whole game on TV and the last quarter a second time on replay. Grimes sucked. If it wasn't the fumbles or missed targets, then it was hospital handballs to teammates. He got completely owned by Ben Lennon (on debut) in a tackle that should have been HTB, he's lucky the umps were completely incompetent yesterday because that could have been a real momentum killer too.
