Honestly that's one thing Hogan did really well, he was able to get alot of 'easy' footy from early because he had footy intelligence. Not sure if Jackson has that yet.

Reckon Jackson is pretty smart, he isn’t early career Hogan but if he played forward all game reckon he’d show a fair bit. I’m a bit biased with him as I reckon his talent is insane but honestly happy with his game yesterday excluding goalkicking.

Agree Lever and May were good, but Tomlinson really impressed me yesterday. He took Tabener most of the day leaving Lever and May to do their intercepting, and did a pretty good job. Tabener got a couple of goals, but 2 of his shots for goal were from pretty horrendous turnovers and wasn’t much the anyone could do about them.

Really suffered with Gawn not hitting a tap to our players, usually Harmes is the one that Gawn has a good connection with. Harmes only 1 clearance, says it all really.
Was just about to say exactly this, certainly early when we were down 9 clearances to zip, I thought the main reason for that was Gawn's silver service straight to them. As soon as he replicates that connection with his own team mates, should make it a bit easier to win it.

Doesn't Gawn always start the year slowly?
Yeah, but he doesn't play a kid on debut usually in round 1. Let's hope he improves against 2nd gamer Hunter next week who just got rolled by 1st gamer Flynn who Gawn will face in Flynn's 3rd game.

Gawn could be beaten by Caleb Daniel in the ruck and it wouldn’t matter so long as we keep winning.
