Honestly what’s more farcical than todays umpiring is the fixture we’ve received this season. Has anyone personally asked Tim Silvers here for his thoughts about our “away” fixtures? If we get a draw like this next season something needs to be said about it publicly if we haven’t already this season. No games in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Brisbane until the end of June is an absolute farce.

anyone else just find this result gut wrenching?
Yep. I think most Crow supporters will feel disappointed. I dont think though that we should be feeling agro. The side is still developing and we still are missing some pieces of the jigsaw. I am not convinced our targeted players will come through the draft. We will have to trade to get what we need so we have a ready made player if we want to compete for a grand final next year. Would love a Taranto type player.

You say anything and they double down and screw you twice as hard.

Gotta know your place as a non-victorian side.

Take what scraps master gives you and don't complain.

Cop the fine in the post agme press conference. The club needs to make more noise about it. Get the attention of the media. Who cares how were viewed or if we come across as whingers.

My response would be that we don’t play in Melbourne for Hawks or Dogs.

He's been average this year.what

What you see now is what you will get with Fogarty for rest of his career . I don’t see any scope for improvement in his game . Last years end of season form will happen now and then but you ain’t gonna get a Walker type career from him . Write that down. He just doesn’t have the agility, athletic traits, speed or Walker smarts to be as dominant as some think he will. He is a lead up forward and that’s his forte and can be easily defended against when you don’t have mids kicking it down your throat.

Won't happen next year. Channel 7 will demand more games involving us at night and on decent grounds.

It was unprofessional. Had to call it a goal.
there is no way off the footage you could confidently say it was or wasnt a goal..

so the only option was to go back to the umpires call.

the no free for the head shot on Dawson and no in the back for laird were the bad calls.

Gotta get pedlar in there for bursts.

We need to try youngsters in there as our 3rd, 4th and 5th choice midfielders. We need to move on from Sloane and Keays especially when you consider our 3 best players will be 27, 30 and 34 next year. Time isn't on our side.

We also need to stop the lunacy of paying $750k $800k for a half back flanker when we desperately need midfielders.

Totally agree. He’s wasted. Put him at CHB.

Very disappointed. A fair turnaround from 3 months ago though - we took it up to, and probably should have beaten, the best team at their home ground.

There are deficiencies but they identifiable. Now it's about fixing them.

The positive trajectory of the team is clear.

As an example of the atrocious umpiring bias, I recall an incident in the second or third quarter when a Crows player tackled a Collingwood player and it was a ball-up, and mere seconds later a Collingwood player tackled one of ours in identical circumstances and it was paid holding the ball. It's extremely inconsistent, yet predictable - the home side gets the frees, especially when it's Victorian but not when the home side is us.
Yeah that was so obvious bias. Commentary also said the 1st one should've been HTB. Utter BS.

It was a goal.

Third umpire didn't have the balls to call it though.

On SM-A325F using BigFooty.com mobile app
Inconclusive. It was probably a goal. I wouldn’t bet my house on it though. Correct call is to defer to umpires call.

The frustrating part is on another day the reviewer may have called it a goal. Sometimes they give weight to the player reaction. If Rankine carried on like he knew it was a goal they may have given it.

Just another in a long list of AFL inconsistencies.
