Plenty of posts in this thread detailing 10 wins as the expectation.

Back your predictions. Don’t run away from them. We’re all wrong from time to time, probably not as wrong as predicting 14 wins for the Hawks but wrong nonetheless.

It's a realistic goal!

A wise man once said the below quote

It’s a ridiculous take that you need to own.

It’s a silly thread only one clown would suggest hawthorn have ever tanked. On the rebuild we all know 2016 was wrong knew it then definitely now don’t need to rehash it. We have started now and had to but it has always been difficult to rebuild and never more so than now. How do you improve a list as a bottom 4 club?
Trade and free agency - clearly only favours strong clubs or players wanting to go home to smaller markets. Players coming back to Victoria have a wide choice and usually go for contending or big clubs.
Draft - only a minor advantage. 18th get pick 1, then the remaining picks are same as the premier…18/19, 36/37 etc. easy to see why it takes so long to make ground. You need a number of years of getting the picks in and then developing them so it’s minimum 5 years before you would expect to see any significant improvement and that’s assuming that you nail your picks.
Salary Cap - the one true advantage for bottom clubs is hamstrung by multiple factors. It’s pretty clear players don’t move for money as the AFL thought. Clubs having to pay the same % as contending clubs to a lesser playing list doesn’t make sense and prevents them stockpiling cash for huge offers that may make players move more than today. it can’t be used to buy picks to fast track the rebuild and bring a large group of elite players through together in a much shorter window.
Conclusion: let the tanking begin!

I don’t run away from anything I’ve posted here, it’s fair game, and I’ll always back my club to be pushing towards finals.

Club board discussions are just that.

Haha, all you do is run away from the things you’ve posted.

You literally could not fathom the Hawks stagnating or regressing in 2024, “laugh reacting” at anyone who would even dare mention the possibility.

Again I assure you it is okay to be wrong and it is noble to own it.

Just check the comments on our board before commenting how good he’s been.

He is in my SuperCoach side so a somewhat vested interest in real life but the general consensus is that we are much better off as a defensive unit without him than with him.
I couldn't give a stuff about the comments on your board or your supercoach side. 😂

Watch football.

Must have really got under your skin.

Unlucky.

The crazy thing is this bottoming out period with less wins is better for the Hawks, with their experience and the lack of talent let alone established talent on the list it was always going to happen. Less Ward’s and DGB’s, more Sheezel’s and Daicos’. Watson looks like an actual elite talent and is a start.

Typical hawks supporter deflecting

Ive seen enough to know the Hawks are in a world of strife. Massimo being let go for a packet of chips was the icing on the cake

Nice spin.

Just admit you’ve not actually watched him this year and be done with it.

Did I hurt your feelings? Why admit something that isn’t true
You having yet another bad take doesn’t really effect my feelings, just quietly.

No bad take, just facts

Hawks are crap and with the impending inception of Tassie, maybe the Hawks will be at the other end of the chasm of expansion clubs taking all the talent they clearly need

“If you want to watch young sides without any form of leaders go watch Norf and Chelsea in the EPL. No sporting sides in the world can exist without leaders/vets to provide guidance in development.”

You know the way this is headed. You just want to pick and choose where you apply your own logic.
And they traded a young key forward for the privilege of bringing Gunston back.

Strapping Young Lad

The getting leaders into the club is rubbish and everyone knows it

Mabior Chol - He is a journeyman, no way you can paint it any other way. Fergus Greene averaged more goals than your boy Mabior.

Massimo D’Ambrosia - has AFL quality traits but can’t defend. Essendon being one of the hardest negotiators were happy to see the back of him for not one, but two packets of chips close to use by date

Jack Ginnivan - Reknowned trouble maker who some think just doesn’t “get it” (in regards to professionalism). Go to the races days before a major game doesn’t scream leadership to me.

Jack Gunston - I’ll give you a mulligan but most think this was a token gesture for a three time premiership player rather than a guy who will actually help you win games. Brisbane didn’t work out and he didn’t want to lose his place in the rat race of AFL payday.

I know Massimo had a knock defensively but I really think it's been one of his strengths so far in the Hawk colours. Took the criticism on and is going very hard at the pill and man.

I've been impressed. Thought he was just a freaky kick.

Brandon Ryan is older than Mitch Lewis lol.

He's 26. Just a few months shy of Chol.

To be fair, he is 21, lots of updates. If the Hawks can utilise the weapon (kicking) in a way that suits them and Mass can get on board to an acceptable level defensively then an AFL standard player is there

He's playing on the wing and doing a hell of a job. Hopefully he's back in this week. We lacked his running and he's a beautiful outlet kick that can get us out of trouble.
