IMHO his upward trajectory was from "mediocre" to "still sub par" then back again.
Not his fault. Full credit to him, he tries his damnedest. He's just not AFL level quality though.
Well he looked like absolute trash in 2022, was honestly embarrassing at SANFL level, suddenly had a couple good end of season games in blowouts and that confidence seemed to roll into 2023 as he was effective in front of goal all of the sudden, making less of his poor decisions and fumbling less. That definitely continued to a point where at his young age it was fair to say there might actually be some potential there. However in the back part of the year, old McEntee was back, barely getting it, not hitting the scoreboard, fumbling crucial ground balls and making terrible decisions that resulted in regular turnovers.

He probably stays a depth player in 2024 until we replace him, but he must not be first picked.

Mind you it is a bit like DBJ. Coming into 2023 many of us (I know I was) were calling for him to be on the fringe phased out of the backline and playing more SANFL, despite his ridiculous contract. However it again took our coaches until round 3 to realise this, I wouldn't be surprised if McEntee goes in a similar way. DBJ ended up filling a role at HFF, but that has to be temporary and he must also be one that if we can get some forward line quality is phased out asap.

I won't go as hard as the good Doc, but from what I have seen from televised games, read on match reports, and been told by mates who regularly attend Maggie's games, Sinn's form has not been within a bull's roar of what was expected, his much vaunted disposal has well been below average and his decision making hasn't been that flash either.

Rossfc's opinion would be interesting as I believe he attends every Alberton game.

Ala TK though it wouldn't surprise me greatly if the club cut their losses and traded him, but personally I would prefer they wait to see how he goes in 2024 after a decent preseason.

The downside to that scenario of course is if he struggles again we could get as much as we got for Jacobs, who according to some reports of the time was apparently `born with a football in his hand,' but did 3 parts of SFA during his time at Alberton, went back to Vic and then norda melbun picked him up for nada!
I'd keep Sinn. If he can stay fit and get some more bursts in the SANFL midfield (inside and outside) there is something to work with there. He looks a great athlete, hopefully it clicks for him at some point.

Phoenix Spicer delisted today - free pickup if after small forward, not sure if hes any good , but i remember he sounded exciting at draft time.

PhoenixSpicer
Why not follow Phoenix Spicer?
An exciting player who absolutely oozes class and x-factor, Phoenix Spicer came to North as a raw half-forward/wing player off the back of a strong Under 18s season with South Adelaide.

While a broken arm restricted his ability to participate in the NAB AFL Draft Combine, Spicer completed the agility test in the SANFL’s 2019 Under 18 pre-season in 7.8 seconds, the fastest time of any participant.

Spicer got his first taste of AFL football late in the 2021 season when he made his debut in his home state against the Crows.

North Melbourne debut: Round 23, 2021

2022: After debuting in the final round of the 2021 season in his home state of South Australia, Spicer was made to wait until Round 16 before making his second appearance in the senior team.

The speedster recorded a career-high for disposals in the Round 18 win over Richmond with eight and booted his first goal in the AFL a week later from a set shot against Hawthorn in Tasmania.

With the talent to burn opponents and generate moments of magic, a pre-season dedicated to improving his skill around the contest could see the 20-year-old have a bigger impact in 2023. (Obviously not)

You'd be silly not to entertain trade offers for both Wines or Sinn. Wines was absolutely rubbish this year. And Sinn can't get out of the park enough and from what i've seen he didn't appear to be anything special.
For me that's all the more reason they shouldn't be on the table. Why sell low? If we're looking to ship off somebody off of this year, ship off somebody like a Farrell who played above themselves.

Spicer has a few tricks but he's too small and timid for afl. I dont mind Cameron fleeton from gws. If he was a few cm taller or a bit faster he would be a good player. Still interested in oscar adams. He never got going at St Kilda and is a proper tall defender size.

I assume Tom Highmore and Will Gould get delisted soon. Its tough being a tweener.

Genuinely worse than McEntee. And this is me saying this.

We have to find a young small forward at the end of the draft. We need a McEntee upgrade- either Jed learns how to find the footy and kick goals or we get a goal kicker who can apply the pressure Jed does.
Francis Evans just turned 22 last month. Jed Hagan mid/fwd kicked 18 goals as an 18 year old at SANFL level.

PORT Adelaide's future first-round pick is on the trade table as the Power look at ways to split the selection to help them get their deals done. The Power have had Geelong's Esava Ratugolea, Essendon's Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Bulldog Jordon Sweet nominate Alberton Oval as their preferred new homes ahead of the trade period, with the club also interested in Richmond ruckman Ivan Soldo. But without a first-round selection this year – it's with North Melbourne after the Jason Horne-Francis deal in 2022 – the Power have to be creative to get their deals done, with rivals aware their 2023 first-rounder is up for grabs for multiple selections.
There are a number of possible options if the Power are to look at clubs who could be willing to use two picks to package together for the future first-rounder.
Sydney (picks No.23 and 31) and Melbourne (25 and 33) loom as possible options as clubs with multiple picks this year, while Port could also look at finding a club that has one early second-round pick this year and can throw in a future second-rounder to net the future first-round selection.
Fremantle (pick No.22) and Hawthorn (30) hold top-30 picks this season as well as their future second-rounders, while West Coast also holds two second-round picks (No.20 and 33) and could also be possibilities. – Callum Twomey
