I have just realised we will probably need another certain penny to drop to finish 2nd.

And it is because of the times the games are played.

Let’s assume we best WC by 110ish (it’s possible) in our game @ 1:45 on Saturday.

Hawks then take care of North no worries on Saturday (that one’s a given)

Then the next 3 important games for us… YES 3 not 2 for us are on Sunday.

We need the Dogs to beat GWS in Ballarat and let’s assume they do (by any margin).

Then the game I just realised that matters now is Saints/Carlton @ 3:20 before the Port/Freo game @ 6:10.

We need the Saints to win because of Carlton get up…. Then Freo’s final chances are gone and they won’t be playing for finals v Port.

We need Freo giving their all to beat Port and by as much as possible… so they gotta have motivation and the carrot that they are playing for finals.

So yep… that Blues/Saints game is potentially important.

I will say that I expect the Saints to get up as Carlton still have so many injuries and will be coming back from WA to play the Saints at Marvel (like we did this week).

I think all the things we need to finish 2nd is possibly… all will be favourites.

We will need to smash WC by as much as possible.

Teams should be all playing at the same time in the last round… but we all know it’s not about fairness.

Yeah spot on. Final round games should be played simultaneously. But AFL is just about the most compromised fixture in the world.

Come on mate, if we lose to West Coast at home with a finals spot is on the line then it will be the biggest choke of all time.
It’s not happening. They are one of the worst sides of all time.
I refuse to believe that any team could be that mentally weak to lose in this situation.
