Swans are an easy team to like.
Heeney is all class.
Blakey is a freak; would love him in our team.
Grundy is exactly what the Swans need in a ruckman. Wonder if we were at all interested. Pies next week- another big challenge.
Warner- awesome lateral movement and damaging.
Gulden- amazing on both sides.
I can see why they are going to be back in the hunt for a top 2 finish this year. Their depth is superb.

And then you remember Papley's in their team :tearsofjoy:

Can't agree more with what you have said though, they've been my second fave team for a while now.

Lots of likeable players and a quality coach, for sure. If we're not going to be in the mix, I'd be entirely OK with them going all the way. Their lack of really established forwards is a concern for me, though. Not sure the goals will keep flowing without some reliable targets emerging close to goal.

Sydney will likely finish 6th or thereabouts again. Goodish side, but their forward line isn't much chop.

Not much to like about the Demons. In reality winning no finals the past two seasons has made them about the 6th best team. This year they may simply drop out of finals altogether.

Dees could end up being a serious slider, I agree. When you put together the utter impotence of that forward line, the habitual straight setting and the clear cultural issues, it really would be no surprise to see them finish outside the eight.

Because he is tall and pretty athletic.

Clubs will keep giving him a go because he has the physical attributes and they believe they can train the 'Shitness' out of him.

They should well and truly know after Jack Watts that you can't teach intensity and attack on the ball.

When they get their 3 mids back, Heeney will go forward again, and he is a natural forward. Along with Papley, Warner, Hayward, Sam Reid, McDonald, and then McLean and Grundy chiming in. PLUS their mids- they do ok up front.

I rate how their mids can contribute on the scoreboard. And I rate Heeney (as a mercurial presence) and Papley (as a constant threat) if they're playing up forward, with Hayward as a handy option as well. But I can't get excited about any of their talls down there at this point. Logan McDonald might make it (but he's not there yet), Sam Reid is miles past his best, and McLean and Grundy won't strike fear into the hearts of too many KPD's across the comp. Amartey's another tall option that's not looming as a serious weekly weapon at this stage.

So I just can't see how that all adds up to a truly consistent attacking threat. And I think they'll need that to actually be there in the last couple of weeks of September this year.
