Chaycing Ball Jones is having the kind of year that Pittard had when he made the 40 man AA squad but I'm confident it won't last.

PLUS Your club board comp is now up!
huge announcement, should be the first news story on 7 news, plodder signs for 3 years
Fits well with the Tasmanian team entering the comp in 2027.
But ironing out salary dumps is the most obvious of manipulations there is.
I won’t mention the dodgy Daniher FA contract extension by Brisbane after Essendon got a R1 compensation….Iron it out, right after the recent Premier got an absolute gold plated deal.
Cheers.
Guarantee income over a longer period with more job security.I still don't understand why a player would ever accept to have their contract altered so that they received the contract value over a longer period. Clubs can't do that unilaterally.
If they inflated the contract value it may make some sense if the player doesn't feel confident of receiving another contract. However it's always preferable to receive money sooner than delay it due to inflation and foregone interest that could be earned etc.Guarantee income over a longer period with more job security.
The contract would likely come with a higher overall price as well just over a longer period.
Given an AFL players average wage and limited time of an AFL player’s career, it deserves fair consideration.
Which in the case of Bowes and GC’s salary dump is exactly what happened. You can’t tell me that the contract extension wasn’t agreed to before the trade. If they inflated the contract value it may make some sense if the player doesn't feel confident of receiving another contract. However it's always preferable to receive money sooner than delay it due to inflation and foregone interest that could be earned etc.
We are headed towards a recession, football clubs of either persuasion should not be receiving funding for the foreseeable future.Today's SA State Budget contains no additional funding to help the Adelaide Football Club overcome a $15m blow-out in costs for their new base at Thebarton Oval. Treasurer Stephen Mullighan said no agreement had been reached and the government had no intention at this stage to do the “heavy lifting” for a “profitable” AFL club.

No new taxes, stamp duty abolished for first homebuyers and billions for a stretched health system.indaily.com.au
Maybe it's time for the Crows to cut their cloth to fit their budget rather than looking to the taxpayer to fund the spiralling costs of their development on public land? They could start by dropping plans for a second oval at the Thebarton site - something that wasn't on the agenda for wither the parklands or Brompton sites. Or maybe ask their many high profile business supporters to dig a little deeper into their own pockets?
Too true. A recession due to a clueless Reserve Bank Governor. We are headed towards a recession, football clubs of either persuasion should not be receiving funding for the foreseeable future.
It is a bit more involved than that. Covid and peoples debt ratios haven’t helped as well. A recessions is going to hurt so many.Too true. A recession due to a clueless Reserve Bank Governor.
Not to mention the job figures released today show the economy is not slowing, putting even more pressure on inflation and interest rates. It is a bit more involved than that. Covid and peoples debt ratios haven’t helped as well. A recessions is going to hurt so many.
The Melbourne clubs must have maxed out their ability to exploit the old system.
