Do you base that comment on how many times he got the ball , or on what he did with it.
Because being at the game I thought he got a decent amount of the ball , but his production , more specifically his decision making was very poor.
He is a momentum killer and that stifles our game plan badly, when he does things instinctively he is better player because when he try to think his way through a situation then by God he is ******* woeful. I have said this before and been berated for it, never the less I stand by my opinion, but Dom's inability to use his right foot hurts his game and his effectiveness.

I can’t put this any better and 100% agree with it. You can have slow players, guys like Priddis who made up for it with evasiveness, guys like Pendlebury who seem to make the game stand still. Dom isn’t one of these players, he doesn’t bust the game open with elite disposal and the game catches up to him whenever he gets the ball, many times he just seems to take the tackle thinking he might break it and never does.

Makes me think he was an early developed junior who performed highly because he was bigger than the competition, now everyone is on the same level it’s a much harder game.

When i said second behind Masten i was implying out of the midfielders.
Sorry, not really a mind reader so I can only go on what was said.
It's not really that impressive to have DE% of 67% when you're playing the majority of the game as an outside midfielder anyway, so I'm not sure it's a good thing that he only just barely bested Yeo, Shuey, Redden and our tagger in that stat.

The umpires help? You realise of course that WC won the free kick count (again)?
well done for the win. Your mob played hard. I suggest now the game is over you go back and watch the game again. Umpires basically gave you 6-8 50/50 decisions and nit saying as an excuse but that could have changed the outcome of the match. Either way, no shame in losing to Demons today.

he worked hard today he found space a lot and used the ball well. he's clearly playing a slightly different role to Redden/Yeo/Shuey so i think the criticism he's receiving if heavily unwarranted after todays game.

Agree to disagree your happy with his work and production where as I see major flaws in his game that hurt the game plan .

I love your posting usually Monocle, but do you honestly believe we aren't contenders this year?

I've asked this before and you didn't reply to me; why do you only come on here after losses and sprout shit about our players?

I post all the time. I've racked up a number of posts for many years. Who are you to tell me when and what to post?

No, I'm just saying that you never post after a win. Every single time I see you online is after a loss, insulting our players and never contributing anything positive.

I disagree, the level of quality between us and other midfields isn't as stark as you make it out to be. Sure, we've lost two from our top end, but you only have to cast your mind back to the Collingwood game when we beat the Pies at home without Nic, with Lycett beating the second best ruck in the game. We did have Gaff then, but I think he's replaceable.

OK then I would be interested to hear why you think we lost today if you thought our midfield was OK ?

I’m going to have to disagree with this as well. When you’re racking uncontested posessions and only hitting 68% disposal efficiency it’s not really a like for like comparison to use disposal efficiency figures as a measure of performance when you’re limiting the comparison to the guys like shuey and redden doing all their work in tight spaces at the coal face.

Willie Rioli is a ******* star. I had high hopes when we drafted him, but he has exceeded my expectations.

His highlight reel for this year alone will be better than most players across their bloody careers.

I like that he’s not just flashy but he’s got the mongrel in him, he wants to win every contest like Yeo

I agree as well, when he doesn't take the first option, which for some reason he doesn't a lot of the time, it generally turns to shit, he ends up under more pressure and either gets caught or wastes the opportunity.
It looks like there is a footballer in there trying to get out but I don't know if he ever will

This isn't the 'CM9000' board where you vet all posts. If you disagree with a post I make, feel free to comment. Achee has shown barely anything, thus he continually gets dropped and hasn't been offered an extension. He might be a good mark and a good kick, but he is a bad footballer. Port knew it and WCE now know it. We can persist with him but he will be a big let down in the finals.

Darling, Kennedy? even when the mids get the ball they don't have much to kick to. Ryan, Venables, Willie are all first year players we lacked leadership, structure and experience in the forward half of the ground. 1 rotation down the whole day, hurt our run and structure, Gov up forward didn't work and put the defence under more pressure.

This. Totally this.

He linked up a lot of the play today and ran hard, 68% DE isn't bad considering he had barely anyone to kick to up forward today. The only times he turned it over was when he was trying to create a chance going inside 50, which wasn't easy today considering our undermanned, inexperience, poorly structured forward line.

If we can just add some polish to our i50 disposal or add some class in JJK and JD we are a hot chance.

Played like hot trash and still hit the front and had our chance to win it.

Sheed not as bad as many tagged him. Shame about that turnover to Lewis late but was involved in most of the play that lead to us getting in front.

Redden was huge all day and then got smothered late in the 4th too when we looked on. Just one of those days. Fair play to the Dees.
