This one annoys me. Maybe because Hurn was out. But someone down back needs to use their experience and step in there. Under no circumstances in a close game should a young buck like Barrass be taking on the responsibility of kicking it in.

Having said that, even though Barrass is a young fella, he's gotta know better. Tight game, play the percentages and kick it long and wide to a contest with Vardy, Gov and Yeo hanging around for marking power.
Was after he marked not a kick in

Watched the first three quarters today and was happy with Cole and Duggan.

Cole was hurt for much of the game but I love the way he attacks it. Going to be a solid player.

Duggan just looks so much better running from half back compared to playing half forward. Both are going to be good strong contested players when their bodies are developed

Mackenzie was outstanding I thought. I didn't think he would get back to this level but I'm very happy to be proven wrong
Last year i kept saying wait another year - its a knee reco

Next year everyone will think nn is cooked and i'll be saying the same thing.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but Darling became the 7th player in our history to kick 250 goals.

He's 10 goals away from being 6th all time at the club.
If he plays his entire career with us, he could end up our all time leading goalkicker.

JK is closing on Suma's record too.

He tends to make one or two silly mistakes a game which stand out in peoples minds, despite anything else he's done. Game was definitely a net positive, and anyone else would have been lauded for it. But post-2015 grand final I'm afraid there'll be nothing he can do to wrest his reputation back from the negative with the majority of AFL fans.

Thought Cole was pretty poor personally, but you expect those games from a young player

He was playing hurt, so I was impressed with his endeavour. I have watched the replay only sporadically and didn't rewatch the last quarter so I may have missed stuff.

Yeah was one of our worst for mine and could use a week in the magoos. Wasn't disgraced by any means at all - just a quiet game from a young bloke who's still learning to string them together.

Some interesting stats from the game:

http://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2017-07-04/round-15-by-the-numbers

We dissect the key statistics from the match.

42, 688, 10…just some of Andrew Gaff’s slew of numbers, these representing his disposals, metres gained and inside 50s. The midfielder was a key link in West Coast’s attacking chains all day, and his 42 disposals were a career-high.

12…Jack Darling score involvements, to accompany his six assists and three goals. The 25-year-old played with aggression, causing the Dogs problems throughout the contest.

3…goals for Malcolm Karpany. The fourth-gamer was instrumental in his inaugural victory with the club, buzzing around the forward half with energy and intent.

8,7…marks and score involvements for Drew Petire. The former Kangaroo once again gave the Eagles a huge lift with his aerial expertise and forward nous.

615…metres gained by Dom Sheed. The 50-gamer impressed in his milestone match, providing West Coast with plenty of penetration with the footy.

19…tackles inside 50 applied by the Eagles. Adam Simpson demanded greater defensive application earlier in the season and his boys have responded.

55…West Coast’s time in forward half percentage. Similar to last week, the visitors controlled the flow of the game with the territorial battle.

90…disposal efficiency from Jack Redden. The Glenelg product made the most of his return back in the senior squad, using the ball cleanly.

27…Luke Shuey pressure acts. The stand-in skipper was ferocious at the coalface, setting the defensive tone among the Eagles’ midfielders.

46…clearances by West Coast; 16 more than their opponent. Simpson’s troops executed their stoppage structures to a tee.

12…Jason Johannisen disposals. Mark Hutchings was tasked with quelling the speedster’s influence and he did so perfectly, which was a key component of the Eagles' win.

10…marks taken by Jeremy McGovern. Whether it was forward or back, the West Australian was able to showcase his strong hands.

8…Sam Mitchell clearances. The 2012 Brownlow Medallist spent prolonged periods in the middle and was able to exert his dominance.

4…intercept marks taken by Eric MacKenzie and Tom Barrass, respectively. The duo was successful in shutting down multiple Bulldogs' attacking forays.

47…points scored from stoppages. For the second week in a row, the Eagles hurt the opposition from their clearances.
