We don't need it.

Every time this team gets talked up they crap themselves.

Fly under the radar and swoop in later in the year.
sadly that seems to be very true.

But whilst we sitting in 6th on ladder. we not going to be rated as premiership contenders until we beat top 8 teams/./

Yes until Amiss builds up the body size he needs protection.
To be honest, he’s the number 1 forward. He’s expected to have a bit more attention.

Thought Tabs took a lot of pressure from him. Since Tabs went out, Amiss has struggled a bit- the West Coast game he already had 2 v 1 early.
Tabs acted as the perfect decoy- had Weitering and Ratuoglea as direct opponents.

Just feel Treacy and Jackson don’t command a number 1 defender. Perhaps add Voss?

Umpires, we definitely got the rub of the green today.
Treacy, very much in form and working together with Amiss and Jackson to protect each other and provide space.
Young & Serong, I liked the idea of Young in the midfield but never thought he would be this successful.
Freddie and Clark, we look so much better when they break the lines

Small forwards, is that what we use the draft picks for?
JOM, still don't know what he brings to the team
Walters, barely reasonable against what should be cannon fodder

Is Freo targeting Liam Baker to bring him next year?

Jackson early on this season commanded a number 1. He hasn't been able to hold a mark since round 3.

Exactly.
Amiss does more damage with the marks/kicks he does.
Really have to push the case for Voss. Feels like he’s more threatening, makes defenders afraid/unsure- exactly like Treacy has been. Jackson doesn’t seem to be that dominant in the air.

Jackson just feels like he should be midfield, wing, roaming around in the Blicavs role

We'll be in such a strong position for the long term if we supplement this young core with three more first round pick talent, particularly more forward talent. Our history shows a huge trend for drafting success - and trading misses - so let's not try to defy history, use that great draft hand. Point is, don't throw it away on Logan McDonald and/or Baker (unless we can somehow get either by not parting with that hand)
We will only be drafting one in Rd 1,. the other two picks will be to bring in experience. We cant be a nursery every year.

They are trying to figure out what to do with Jackson, he was a centre bounce mid today while Darcy was rucking, noticed it at least once, can’t remember if they repeated it.

We stay a nursery as long as experienced players who are best 22 keep leaving, replacing them with draftees.

If that can stop happening, the experience comes from within with a core that grows together, and having draftees lined up behind them is only a good thing.

That said, I’d be okay using one of the picks to bring in quality but would love to draft 2 first rounders at least.

I really hope some mids with speed and outside class, or small forwards are worthy of a first round by the end of the year.

At the moment, there is not too much.

I am still of the opinion we should keep 2 but our hands may be tired if the first round is just full of mids.

Based on Davo's draft board, the top 3 forwards will go 10, 24 and 29 at the moment.

Best 3 by position and 5 mids (unlucky to miss)

Johnson has been superb in this game…best game for the club
Seems to have become a bit of an escaped goat with some weirdly criticising him today. I thought it was a massive step up and encouragingly was because he got to play in his best role. Primed to take Fyfes spot when needed
