Couldn't ask for a better run into round 2. Didn't learn a ton today, pretty weak opposition. How we front up to an away game after a 10 goal win will tell us a lot about how our season is going to go.

It's funny how your opinion gets skewed when at the game compared to TV.

At the game, I felt Milera had more of it/was more involved than the stats show, but Crouch was the opposite - I hardly noticed him much, yet big stats.
I couldn't believe Laird had 29 disposals. I barely noticed him.

Good

Love being back at the footy, better weather for it too.
New recruits all did their bit. Isaac was quieter than you'd like but a couple nice goals. Peatling quiet early but worked into it well, and ANB is going to be VERY handy.

Midfield functioned well, Crouch giving off to the runners. Forwardline good, good spread of goal kickers and the movement was great. Rachele was fantastic, could've had a huge day.

Max, Woz and Hinge on the rebound.... wow.

Pedlar reportedly played very well in the 2s

Bad

Just ****ing throw the ball up !!! And that was just the start of the poor umpiring. Just generally awful.

Draper as the sub, don't like it but can understand it. Give the kid a full run next weekend.

Milera was ok-ish defensively but he had the handbrake on going forward. We don't need that.

Laird was ok..... not great. Probably harsh being in the bad section but like the previous player, if they aren't pushing the game forward, what's the point ??

Ugly

12.00 games..... just nope.

St Kilda, ordinary club.

Our key defenders foot skills, real ugly.

The drunken meth head sitting just in front of us having a full domestic with his missus in front of his kid. Not good.

Hard to find people who could be upset with a 60 point win.

Feel like we could win the grand final by 200 points and you would still bitch and moan.

Just because we won doesn't mean everybody played well and deserved their selection. We should always be looking to improve because sometimes your opponent isn't much of a measuring stick. But I know you bask in your 100 point Eagles thrashings because they've been oh so meaningful the last 2-3 years. I guess you're another of the deadheads that preach the idiotic, "you never change a winning side" garbage.

That said, it's a tough assessment. I would have said a 3-4 goal win against a full strength Saints outfit a pretty decent outcome. The injury disparity makes it hard to judge, as does the newness of the season.

Mate I thought you said you weren’t watching the first half in the match day thread?

Seems a little negative post. Milera was fine, no way was he terrible
He was fine. Did a few nice things, can't think of mistakes/being beaten too badly.

I suppose the real question is if he's offering more than Nank. Which is probably a no. Still, I'm happy to have him in, and get him into some good form.

Laird would have been in bad section most of last year but that is ridiculous today sorry

This had the potential to be a danger game, especially after Richmond upsetting Carlton Saturday night.

But from the moment we jumped out of the blocks you knew we were on today. Took full advantage of the breeze in the first and third quarters, had a couple of 5-10 minute periods where we were just on fire, and got the job done into the breeze in the second and last quarters.

Seeing pretty much the entire forward line join in the party was exciting. They’re going to give many defences headaches this season.

Hopefully we carry the momentum into next week
