I would think our goal is to play better than 1 1/2 quarters of good football, and limit the team-wide blackouts.

Our best is really, really good. Our bad is diabolical.

The aim is to win, however that occurs. Blackouts, runs of goals within games, these things happen in games played by all teams every week, the desire to focus on nothing else when it comes to us is nonsense.

No more excuses we are clearly off the pace

Let's put this stat into perspective, between 02-20 we played Hawthorn at the MCG 7 times

Nobody is making excuses for anything, we aren't a premiership contender at this stage of the journey but we are an improved team, much improved. You'll be jumping on the bandwagon soon enough.

Of course, playing guys like Gibbons gives us the best chance?

Are you just randomly quoting posts when you pose a question? Go lay down and take a bex, try again in the morning.

Almost finished watching the game. On the whole, a pretty ordinary performance that won't stack up against most of the competition, but it's 4pts and another opportunity to learn.

Have focused a little more on some individual players this week though.

Setters - underwhelming. Big body but doesn't really use it, disposal a bit suspect, on the whole just very meh. Not a bad game as such, but just did nothing to impress.

Doc/Williams - the positional switch is exactly what both these guys needed. Better use of both their strengths.

TDK/Pittonet - think this pairing will work fine for now, and more so than replacing either of them with Levi. If Charlie can come back and stay on the park, that's when I think Pitto's position comes into question.

Owies - just keeps finding ways to impact, limited player in some ways but uses the tools he has and applies himself consistently for four quarters.

Stocker - can see why he's been used down back, plays a really physical game and shows genuine courage. Love seeing him prowling through the centre square when we're running the wings though, exactly the type of player we want to be looking to hit with a centering kick. Makes some mistakes, but should keep playing whenever fit.

Harry - quiet game, but even then he's always threatening.

Weiters - drool.

Walsh - hnnnggghh.

The way to win is increase the positive output (good football) and decrease the negative output (bad football).

What does “however it occurs” mean? You don’t accidentally win or beat any of the good teams with the way we currently play.

Would an ugly grand final be alright by some on here.
Take the win, have a great week.
:)
Yes,
Sure we WON the GF,

But we shoulda....
And then....
Plus that player ALWAYS does/doesn't do ....etc etc etc

I’m being a bit of a disk, but honestly

Dunno, unbelievable that that people could think that that’s the way forward

There's clearly a number of players who are in the team now who won't be any longer as we move into the next stage, for now they serve a purpose and play a role. This is always the case in the development of a team before they are ultimately a consistently successful unit. It's a matter of being a little patient even though it can be frustrating. The improvement is there and it will continue.

When the final siren goes and we have won the game, I'm happy, it's as simple as that. I don't care whether it looked pretty, ugly or anything else.

This was the year for what? A premiership? Finals? I'm not calling you fair weathered, maybe you just expected too much?

Well esoteric definitely didn't select Carlton, it will be interesting to see, the suspense is killing me now, I hadn't even thought of it before you mentioned it, thanks :tearsofjoy:
