Trac should definitely be dropped for those two JTG’s 🤷‍♂️

Why would u drop someone for displaying such epic forward craft?

It's a high quality indictor of future performance and goal kicking abilities 😂

Really happy with our leaders responding after a crap week last week. Petty and Kozzy were super encouraging but as usual it comes down to what we get out of Gawn TMac Petracca Oliver May Lever.

Gawn just absolutely belting it forward out of the ruck multiple times was great to see. Thought he had a massive game.

I love the Weid but the kid is cooked for confidence, there’s about a million differences in the way Brown looked on field to what Sam was giving us. Don’t think anyone is saying that Weid couldn’t have done the same but he clearly isn’t at this stage.

Not a hater, but what did Brown do last night that this kid couldn't have done?

Ben doesn't appear to dwell on a dropped mark or missed goal for countless months at least. Weid had his chance and blew it. He's done unless injury ****s us.

Easily our most unclutch player. Any form of expectation or pressure to perform and he goes to brown town 💩

I thought Gawn really turned "Daddy" Lycett into his sub last night. Really set the game up early with some dominant 2018 style tap work.

Feel like it's few and far between for the games best ruckman which is funny to say. Need more games like it. Also like the spike it forward/grab it out and hack it forward move Gawn does when he's feeling it.

Yea, Scott must be getting soft in his old age, didn't even try to give it to Max physically. Maybe it was a 150 games milestone gift?

He had a kick, which was one ahead of Weid's last start.
Do you honestly believe that he wouldn't have got a kick playing Brown's role last night?

More to the point, if his confidence is shot, shouldn't we have been playing him in that role so that he could get his hands on it more often?

When we have options why do we have to cradle him through months of low confidence anymore? The days of handing out games is over. Step up or lose your spot.

Yeah it was a rare occasion of Max actually pulling off that ‘classy ruck’ game he strives for every week. It looks better when it works but for results I prefer the aggressive attack game.

Weideman and B Brown first 50 games comparison.

Weideman Brown
Goals: 49 80

Disposals: 9.1 10.5

Marks/Contested: 3.4/1.2 4.8/1.5

Weid was given a 5 week run at it and really struggled - not sure what else the club is meant to do when he isn’t performing.

Ed put to Max in the post game if they’d been though a big training load mid season ‘as Burgess likes to do’. Max didn’t use it as an excuse for last week but acknowledged it more or less, said we’ll be ripe for finals. Good PR or true, pleasing to hear.
I've been hoping this was the case. Was talking about it with my brother the other day as hopefully the reason things were a bit off on field. I think it was a mindset thing too.

Weideman is a dud

He is all but gone in 2022
You put forward a very nuanced argument.

But, if Weid is a dud, then Brown is a dud too... assuming that Brown's abilities are limited to what he showed last night.

I'm not knocking how Brown performed his role, but it seems that you are holding Weid to a different set of expectations. There's nothing that Brown did last night that Weid couldn't have done in the same role.

That's my point. If he had been given the role that Brown had last night, then he wouldn't have struggled so much. If he had played that role in last night's match, everyone would be singing his praises today because the midfield would have made it easy for him.

The bloke has been in the system 6 seasons and has gone worse since the 2018 PF

He had 4 rounds to get into some type of form and failed miserably

Brown was great last night, presented well and helped free up T Mac
