It simply has to be intentional. Ball is practically at Marvel Stadium when he snipes him. You cannot defend that action as a reactionary self-preservation response. He could have simply avoided contact.
Pickett copped a week from a perfect bump that resulted in zero injuries no way Stewart gets one extra week like some are suggesting

Another reason why I hate Selwood.

Look at him at quarter time with Stewart the grub...

All smiles.

You can even read his lips as he pats Stewart on the shoulder and says 'Good boy.'

Disgusting.

This coming from the biggest ducker.

Disgusting.

Never rated him as player plays for frees and worse by a mile in the competition.

Need to fix the rules. That should be send off for Stewart and he missed equal weeks to Prestia for concussion. Otherwise you could literally send a player on the field to injure opposition players and then fake an injury and sub them off. I know that’s not the case here but it is so unfair gun players can be taken out of the game by deliberate injury without penalty.
good point. its clearly illogical.
makes me think that for intentional hits that result in concussions not only should the offending player be sent off but they should start their imposed ban the week after the concussed player returns to the game. so they get sent off + weeks off that player is injured + the ban

is that too harsh? if they are serious about getting rid of it...

Gibcus was pretty shaky again today. Has lost his confidence a bit in the last few weeks.

Probably needs to drop back to VFL level imo, especially if Miller has another strong game tomorrow.
Yep agree, last few weeks he’s been mistiming jumps and he’s had a fair few poor spoiling attempts that have cost us a few goals.

Reckon our best backline has Balta taking his spot when fit.

Have a spell TI.
It shits me that Hawkins is a serial pusher and never penalised.…..nothing Taz could’ve done. Better team lost

Nice photo shot mate, but not what I wanted to see again. lol. Roll the movie on and you can clearly see Tom was out of the contest and Flossy needed a big body in for support. Unfortunately Tarrant is one of those players at the end of his career and thinks his only role is to stop his man rather than support his team mates. He was Tom watching and lost the plot on what he really needed to do. Provide a hard body in the contest.

Pretty easy really
Do the the same as other PROFESSIONAL sports
If umpires have the balls to report a reportable offence that clearly takes a player of the game the game then red card the douche bag

But then then that would take the AFL to be professional
Agree. They spend minutes replaying captain obvious finger tippers that go to the third umpire to resolve scoring ffs - surely a third ump can watch incidents like the Stewart hit and determine within a couple of minutes that a player needs to be sent off. Send the message down to the ground and get it done. If there’s any doubt player stays on and it gets resolved post-match.
Really is it that hard?

Was it a free to Tarrant or not Lynch got penalised for the same thing ?.

Aren't many games left that we can afford to take a gamble on injecting some youth into the senior team. Would love to see those changes. No BS selections there all players deserving of a shot.

Hawkins pushed players in the back on at least 5 occasions, no frees

He never gives them away. But as soon as Jack or Lynch do, they get pinged immediately.

Why do we always lose the under a goal games?

Anyways, I think top 4 is still alive. As long as we beat the teams we need to beat and defeat Brisbane and Fremantle, then we can still make it
Because the close games that we do win we usually end up kicking a lot of late goals and winning by a decent margin.

Just watched the Hardwick presser and no mention of the umpiring disgrace if he isn’t going to go into bat for the team and the club he may as well give it away I’m getting angrier by the week of the team copping it in the arse by the afl and umpires why isn’t the club taking a stand and cop the fine
Hardwick is not going to complain about the umpires, it will do absolutely nothing for us and then we’ll just be painted by the media as whingers. We gain absolutely nothing from it other than a few supporters getting satisfaction that the coach complained.

Would wait for tomorrows vfl game tomorrow to assess the ins
See who wants it

Was courageous to fight back but to lose with 2 minutes to go again is devastating. As bad as the umpires were they cannot be blamed for that. Yet again we aren’t mentally strong enough to close out a tight game
Seemed to just end up in the wrong players hands at the clutch moments in the last quarter. Every bounce of the ball went their way too, just seemed there was an invisible wall across halfway in that last quarter and we continually found ways to turn it over.

Have done this a few times recently, same last week, don't seem to have the composure to make the right decisions in pressure situations especially when fatigued. Poor disposal by foot has been our Achilles heel for some time.

Feels dirty to even say this after a loss after how far we have come as a club but although we lost that game this is the first time I am starting to believe we are a contender. Say what you will about the cats but they are a genuine flag threat and any game that is decided by less than a kick could always go either way. A few other contributing factors against us that don’t need mentioning again and we win that 9 out of 10. The boys have me believing agIn

absolutely mate, it would have to be a pretty pessimistic individual to not take plenty of positives from that game, I couldn’t bare myself to watch the post game but I would imagine dimma was pretty upbeat?
Tigers were brilliant.

The media will make a massive mayo about it,we are Richmond after all.
I can understand Dimma.
