We were missing 2 of our most, if not, our most structurally important players in Lynch and Nank with no genuine replacements, our 2 x FB options . We had 5 kids under 25 games. What about the 2 downfield frees that called back that 100% cost us shots on goal and allowed the Cats defenders to get back. If you look hard enough at any loss, you will find enough excuses.

Yep, I saw that. All Friday night proved is that our depth is probably better and/or are willing to work harder than Geelong’s.

Honestly, I don’t think they would have either. We all know how Dangerfield and Stanley go when we play like we did on Friday night. We may have actually won by a couple more goals. Stengle may have gone ok, but honestly I don’t think he would have been enough.

Great to see us running in waves again, fumbling bumbling the ball forward quickly before the oppo could get set.
All of a sudden Cotch is kicking goals and the young ones look more assured of themselves.
Also our plodder endurance runners looked good again outstaying their opponents, applying pressure and getting involved in a game plane that doesn't need a high skill level to execute.

Magnificent Hair has high footy IQ to impact our score at least half a dozen times in 3 quarters of footy.

The KB like rove off a contest.
The tackle to get the incorrect disposal or ball up.
The 20 to 30m pass to a teammate in space.
The chess master of the small forwards / mids movement inside and around the forward arc to get blocks for JR8 and Goat.

Would expect him to have Tross like knowledge of Oppo transition set ups and strategies.

Would not have him playing mid or expecting him to chase a great deal, rather front on close pressure yielding 1-3 personal sausages per match.

Reports into runners for on field info that relayed back to coaching staff.

Incredible how it stays in place for the entire game, even the after match interview there wasn’t a strand out of place.
I suspect Brook puts a product in it for him.

I think back to when we had an injury weakened lineup against GWS and Cameron took us to the cleaners. Might have been the day Dusty did coke snorting sign to Mummy.

id say I agree with you. It made a 2 goal difference.

But I noticed that we were generally earning a lot of those frees and there were quite a few that didn't get paid including a time tarranto was pulled to the ground and geelong scored.

Oh that game, i remember late in the last qtr Campbell had his head taken off in the goalsquare and play on was the call and literally 1 second later the eagles got a pressure relieving soft free kick and kicked the next 2 goals of the game, we lost by 2 pts.
