chris newman is incharge of our attack

our scoring is at all time low

no wonder hawkers improved when newman left

shouldve kept teague in charge of scoring, newy has zero clue

What happened to Vlastuin's back?
I think it was from Rayzor-Ray bending him over & rogering him one last time. Honestly, he is the most unfairly treated player in afl history - courageously takes front position & gets pushed out repeatedly and rarely gets a free kick, high shots & play on and has bullish!t frees paid against him. I’m still seething from when he head butted Dangerfield’s elbow in the ‘20 GF (surprised he didn’t get weeks) and it was play on.
It’s criminal & really feel for the poor bastard, must frustrate the sh!t out of him.
* hope he wins the b&f this year, great Tiger man

Some bloke on SEN reckons Yze will make 1 change to his coaching staff

Out Teague

Then you haven't watched football ever. It's never as good or as bad as it seems. Put your big boy pants on, get a cup of concrete and harden up. FFS it's round 20 and we have bugger all incentive to win. The team has stuff all cohesiveness because half of them have played less than 50 games and we've used 41 players this year... a club record equalling 1989 - a year when we also won the spoon. Oh but back then, the club was broke and didn't look like existing in 3 years, let alone winning flags in the next few decades.
Totally agree. I reality we had one less score. If we had kicked as accurately as them or if those three close goal reviews had gone our way, the game would have been much closer than we deserve given our horrendous run of injuries this year. We need a key forward and probably two talented outside mid/forwards. Hard to find I know but we are worth persevering with.

But we dont have anyone to play FF

Lynch is injured, and Jack R retired.

Tbh I reckon beating North and finishing 17 is not bad. The worry is wce getting the spoon. Means Baker could leave without a trade.

Yeah I actually think finishing 17th would be the best result if the top of the draft is as even as people say. Finishing last doesn't seem to bring the draft benefit that it normally would (just our luck)

Think we’re not as shit as we think we are. 11 players with less than 50 games experience played on the weekend. Collingwood had 5 players with less than 50 games experience.
pies are shite lol we destroyed them in everything but the scoreboard with our vfl side

Agree but I also think we’ll be just as poor next year.

The problem we have is that currently without a proven KPF who can clunk a mark when it is bombed in there the standard plan B strategy for the majority of sides is to lower the eyes and deliver the ball to leading medium/small forwards.

Sadly looking at our entire list we have available there isn't one player at the moment who would be considered elite by foot, our entire midfield group are well below AFL standard in the area of foot skills, for that matter their handballing skills aren't much better.

I certainly wouldn't want to play in our forward line, the ball comes inside 50 so poorly you may as well have no one in there at all and try to kick the goals from outside 50 but unfortunately we also have a group of jelly legs who struggle to kick the ball 30 metres.

It's become absolutely imperative that above everything we have to recruit skilled players, especially mids with above average to elite kicking skills, otherwise our forward 50 will turn into the perpetual catapult, which essentially it has already, and as we have seen our backs just can't defend continually against this.

One small positive recently has been our inside 50 entries on occasions has exceeded our opponents however we still lose the game. We just need cattle who can take advantage of every single entry because while other teams are becoming more clinical, we on the other hand have surely become the turnover kings through lack of composure and poor skill level.

We as supporters all understand the injuries this season and the necessity to blood the younger players but it has to be said that the skill level of the squad across the park in addition to horrendous decision making doesn't seem to instill too much confidence moving forward even if we do eventually manage to field our best 22.

The game has changed, more so in the last few years than ever before. Rule changes, clearly aimed at blunting our success have resulted in teams now following a strategy whereby it's a clinical game of maintaining possession which involves precise movement of the ball. We as a club have not recruited players who can execute this game style, we have a residual group from our dynasty who executed a gameplan at the extreme opposite end of the scale, chaos and frantic ball movement which clearly is not effective any more.

Unfortunately you can't teach a player intuitive skills at this stage in their development. Something has to change, weeding out the players who are clearly not capable of executing a precise ball movement game plan doesn't happen overnight but it must happen in addition to targeted recruiting if we are to have any chance of becoming competitive again in the shorter term.
