I foreshadowed that results wouldn’t change much when the experienced players returned , we re competitive in patches without ever look like winning , we really need to go hard in securing 4 pics inside top 20 . There are opportunities to do that ,,, make sure it happens
Ive said the same thing. Been good though weve got a ton of games into HRS, Brown, Campbell and now Banks, Trezise, Green and Smith.

It's going to be a fine line in keeping enough experience and getting quality picks in to ensure we aren't down here for an eternity. I don't envy Blair and I sure as hell don't envy Toce having to make sure he doesn't balls it all up.

Crows have young talent on their list (Rachele/Fogarty/Rankine/Soligo/Thilthorpe. They can go either way and are ahead of us but their rebuild started much before ours.

Also Kozi has been one of the only players who is actually marking the footy right now. He’s been far better than most would like to highlight.
Rankine obviously a star, the others have some potential but not there yet. Fogarty same age as Balta!

Kozi been ok, he's not a #1 forward though and we will battle until we get someone else, through draft or trade.

It’s been 1 season of dogshit old man
Time to be patient for a few

Rome wasn’t built in a day
If you think this is your only season of being dogshit then you have a rude shock awaiting.
What’s worse than dogshit?
Coz that’s what we get next year and probably two more years after that.
I’m patient because I am eco. We shouldn’t be eco after the recent success.
How come Geelong and Sydney never fall far for long?

Disappointed Kevin Sorbo GIF

I’ll feel much better when we have some top flight draftees in our list , There are holes e Everywhere
Yeah that's been the toughest part of this season, no real superstar kids to watch and keep us going to games. Been a tough watch hoping for a glimpse here or there.

look mate hopper and prestia are not up to it. they transition poorly. prestia is past it now. he stuffed up an easy kick in the first second of play by giving a silly loopy handball. he needs to go. Hooper is on a 7 year deal at big money, hes a b grader, hes slow and is a poor kick what is his value???
I have to agree Prestia makes utterly disgusting mistakes by hand and foot. Taranto same and hopper is too slow to play in the AFL

Yeah we need some elite talent on every line and I hope we try and cast the net wide over the next few years

Neither of those sides had Matt Clarke handbraking them. Sydney have their academy and let's be honest haven't had our success. Been 12 years since they won

Sydney have the academy that is a pipeline of elite talent so it makes it much easier to stay on top

Imagine if we had the likes of Blakely coming in despite winning flags

How many flags have Geelong and Sydney won since we won 3 is another point worth bringing up

Geelong are the exception, swans were bottom 4 2019 and 2020 and get gifted top 5 talent when they were up thanks to their academy.

Most clubs spends a shitload of time at the bottom, we’ve spent the best part of a decade up and it shows with our missing talent in that 21-27 age group.

Swans haven’t had that many come through their academy that have been top class though.

Only their best players and having a decent baseline they know they are going to get every year from the academy lets them also take risks with the other picks

Geelong have the lifestyle to entice players as well.
As much as everyone bags Geelong the city, and it really is a shithole save for a few areas, they all live on acreage on the Golden Plains or have a place on the Surf Coast or the Bellarine,

As you so eloquently put it, I’m old.
Time is running out to see another one,
Pipe down with that or I’ll card ya

Cheer up
We are going to win the draft and it’s gunna be sick

They also get a home ground advantage thanks to Kardinia, which to me is 3-4 extra wins every year. Plus they recruit really well.

Leave me alone or I will tell chief.

Fair call. Picking humphries from nowhere for example.

They’ve only reaped the benefits over the last few years.

If you’d seen the growth in the AFL across NSW over the last 20 years, you’d see the AFL and Sydney’s time and investments are paying dividends. Kids want to play, and schools - especially private schools - are fielding teams playing a decent quality of footy.

One thing that really stood out today was just how much our players have checked out. Single efforts defensively, no accountability for their opponents, players looking out for themselves by stat padding, no sacrificing for the betterment of the team and the only time they seem to celebrate anything is when a player kicks their first goal.

The next 4 weeks are going to be a grind and you can see that the team is devoid of any sort of confidence. If North get a jump on us early next week we'll fold like a house of cards. There isn't much more that Yze can do this year to turn things around, what we need to do is get answers from those undecided senior players about their intentions for next year, either they're staying or they're going, because right now no solid plans can be made about the direction we're heading in 2025 and it is also having a big impact on the list with so much uncertainty about players futures.
You’re about 16 weeks too late as it’s been obvious from early in the season. Even Cornes told you weeks ago and you refused to believe. Now you’re playing Mr Obvious.

The point is we traded two years worth of draft picks and all we have to show for it is the worst midfield in the league. Frankly could have still had the worst midfield in the league without bringing in Taranto and Hopper, it's a pretty low bar, but at least we'd have some exciting first round youngsters like Brown to look forward to. And we can only blame injury so far, only Ross is missing from it at the moment and he is no world beater. So if that is the proposition, we'd still be crap with them, bottom of the ladder crap, but we'd be even more crap without them, that's not much of a sales pitch in retrospect. The Taranto and Hopper trades are ageing worse by the week.

Why do people keep harping on about trades done 2 years ago? I’ve made some calls to the league headquarters and they’ve confirmed the trades can’t be reversed like in SuperCoach, so why do people feel the need to whinge every second post?

It’s seriously demented, because the ‘best’ inside mid we’d probably have taken if we didn’t have TT and then Hopper would be Ben Hobbs … how’s he going? Or maybe we get Erasmus… how’s he going? Or big bodies mid Allan at the Pies went top-20 … who? And Curtin was our pick last draft, right? He might become a player, but he can’t get a game for lowly Crowd ATM.

It’s so pointless to harp on about it… I don’t get it.
