how you justify rioli atm is ridiculous. Everyone on thier best form is worthy, even Paul Bullus. He has not earned the right to put on the jumper. Aarts is all over him. Probably wont play again this year. His head is wrong. Get over it.

Egg is young, we all know he will give way to the lion from lebanon. He will be ok for every run.
Mate, I haven't said a thing about Rioli, and didn't suggest he should come in, so don't know what you think I'm justifying.

Would wager a fair bit that Rioli will play again this year though. You're delusional to think otherwise, particularly with shorter breaks between games.

for me about 3 in front of him but maybe not for dimma or you. he doesnt deserve it atm...

Great to see that performance with so many premiership stars/best 22 out.

Think Egg Smith has lacked a bit of intensity since he played a ripper a few weeks ago. Couple of times he hasn't gone as hard as he should both under a high ball and when contesting the ground all. However he built into the game after a slow start. Having defensive forwards go to him might be a new experience for him so he's handled it ok. I'm guessing Houli will come in for him when available.

Balta has looked really good (to state the obvious) and I'd back him and Astbury to hold down the key defensive posts once Dave is back. That will free Grimes up to play on the dangerous smalls or equally a dangerous 3rd tall (like Oscar Allen or someone similar).

Stack looks a little unsure of himself which is a bit strange. His confidence and touch was so good when he debuted last year. Form is temporary, class is permananent, so he should make it but is not an automatic selection.

Really impressed by Jack Ross in that game. Others seemed able to play well just by having his big body in there. He actually provided the output you expect from Graham (who tackles more than he gets the ball).

Aartz was good and did what you expect Rioli to do. Rioli can be one of the most dangerous forwards in the game but is miles off it at the moment.

Chol was a ripper. He is like NicNat a bit in the way, you notice a lot of the involvements he has and then you look at the stats and he has only touched it 7 times. Versatile and arguably provides more for us in this setup than Nank was (which is a big call about a dual premiership ruckman). If Chol starts getting it 15 times a game as a part time ruck, then look out. He'll kick 2-3 a week and allow better match ups for JR and Lynch.

Really good to see our future on display and apologies to Higgo (currently surest hands in the side), Bolton (electric point of difference in the mids) and Baker (tenacious player who beats guys bigger than him every week) who I missed. Makes you wonder what we'll be like if we get a fit Houli, Prestia, Caddy, Edwards back. They may have to earn their way back in (like Rioli, Graham, Nank), which is a good problem to have.

Stack was our worst by far but survises. Didn't chase, always lagged behind. 1 contested possession and a paltry 89 meters gained but survises the cut.
Compare to Markov, 240+ meters gained, and 6 contested. Did his job but is omitted.

Out: Markov

Because Stack is a star in the making who for whatever reason has struggled this year. So they want to get games in to him to try and bring him back to somewhere near what he can do. So he is afforded the slack that Markov isn't who has been around for years. Good player, but no star.

I luv stack but thats just plain wrong sends the wrong message to the rest of the playing group, lits playing favorites. Markov i still think has a future not every player is going to be a star, so shouldn't base selection on that criteria to what you stated.

Stacks pressure rating was good last week, laid plenty of hard tackles and covered a heap of ground. After the game Dimma praised his game so they saw something they liked last week.
Having said that I agree that offensively his game was shit, clearly fumbly and lacking confidence. Markov stiff but that’s the way it goes sometimes

Speaking of Lambert, he has been going okay of late but down throughout the year arguably.

Is this because of 16 minute qtrs where he cannot be as effective?? If so is he more effective for the team tagging L Neale and likewise Zorko who is not a fan of the tag?
Definitely Zorko.

I thought Lambert was easily in our best last week, played a really hard grunt game, less possessions but very important.

Yes and no. It is about team success in the long run and we are a better side with Stack up and running. Needs a few weeks to try and run into some form. Markov has been on the periphery for years so even though he played okay, like a lot of players in that position they don't get afforded the luxury that class players get. Naish last week, Markov this.

Disappointed for markov. Thought stack was the obvious out.

Nah. No way Mr Money Shot. Said last Wednesday night that it’d be Markov out for Vlaus. One defender for another.

Reasonable game last week but Markov’s got very few runs on the board. Stack at least has had some good games under his belt and shown that he is capable of being a big impact player. Stack has potential to be a game changer. Markov does not and he is purely replaceable with Vlaus.

Right decision. Now go and work on your putting ! (Dunno why you persist with that baseball grip quite frankly.)

Unlucky Oleg
I suppose we put it down to team balance.

Full back and ruck, don't often see that.

Balta could be special.

Maybe thats Balta's nick name, Special K.

It would be more 7th defender/ruck, that gives Balta room to grow while negating the opposition fullback and CHF as well as other forwards. Chol can look after ruck duties in the forward half

Definitely Zorko.

Why not both?

In fact why not do a Fremantle v Collingwood.

Tag a player, I think it was Sidebottom for first half??

Lambert and another could tag Neale and Zorko for a half and drop off as the endurance kicks in more in the second half.

The question is in 16 minute football what is RFC's first half strategy and what is its second half strategy?

for those saying we don't tag - Dimma said we have strategies to deal with players like Neale. might not call it tagging but seems there are specific strategies to deal with individual players.
