Club needs to publicly ask for please explain for that and the Dixon push in the back decisions
Which one? The one in the first quarter or the one in the last? Won't make any difference of course. Laura Kane will just say the umpire was unsighted, the AFL will tick the box marked revenge (because we embarrassed them) and it will happen again next week

Holy crap, the AFL write up mentions Dixon as the physical presence Port need to win a flag... Crickey. That wasn't true 5 years ago and it sure isn't now. Unless of course, the umpires continue to ignore his blatant shoves in the back.
Got away with a couple but make no mistake Balta played terribly

A third of the side tonight (7) have played 20 games of less, three of whom are in their first five games.

We were cooked the moment Nank went off, until then we were pretty even.

Lot of promising signs to see if you look past the frustrating moments.
Ryan went from 3p as a key forward to making Jordan sweet look like Simon madden in the ruck ,, sweet is shit ,,,that’s how bad our talls are and why were stone motherless

Do we get a priority pick if we only win 2 games all season? Or what is it that qualifies you for that?

That was a thing in the past that if you won under 5 games you would qualify for a priority pick.

Now you have to ask for one & after previously winning 3 flags I think we know what the answer would be.

Yes and no. Definitely at least 2 of dixons goals came from a shove in baltas back.

Balta played ok took 9 marks. Gave a lot of drive out of the back line.
Really it’s disappointing that we kept blight out , great experience playing v good sides , we ll find out a bit about him just madness leaving him out considering how bad our talls are

I agree with you that Trezise, Campbell, Mansell Green, Brown, HRS, MacAulif and Smith have shown promise and definitely need games. The reality is that we don't have 10 0f our best 23 out. Of the players out Lynch, Toranto, Gibcus and Vlastuin are walk up starters. Lafau, Ross show heaps of potential to improve us. Graham is a good as he is going to get and really will not be any better than the player he replaces. In the side last night, Nank, Rioli, Hopper, Balta, Baker, Bolton and Prestia are a really good core however Hopper and Prestia have proven to be injury prone, and I could not blame Baker if he went home. Really, we are only going to get 6 good players back form injury and Lefau won't be back until late next year. so really we only have a core of 10 good, experienced players. Add to that a couple of raw kids from the draft and we are not going to magically transform into a top 8 team when our injured player are available.
This is why I don't understand the match committee not going all in on the kids. We need pretty much all of these kids to step up. I love Broard and all the team things he does but he, Short, Pickett, MacIntosh and even Dusty need to make way for the kids. I suspect that Dusty has already worked that out and I would be surprised if (after the Collingwood game) he makes himself available.

Don’t have 10 of our best-23 out?

Dusty
TT
Ross
MRJ
Lynch
Lefau
Vlastuin
Gibcus
Grimes
Pickett
Graham

So yeah, it was probably 11.

Just because some players might be retiring or injury prone, it doesn’t change the fact they are in our best team in 2024. With Jack gone Lefau is 100% in our best team ahead of Kosi and Ryan.

But for the sake of the argument we are splitting hairs. I’m happy to say we had 11 of our best-25 out last night. You cannot argue with that as basically everyone in the list above is selected in the AFL team when fit.

Yet people expect us to beat Port away? We did well to compete for so long.

Yeah I was very happy with our performance up until 3qtr time
Kept ourselves in the game and went blow to blow despite our outs

Last qtr we folded but it’s not uncommon for players with a lot of young players

Changes (if Nank injured and I was the coach)
Out: Nank, Dow, Sonsie, Short
In: Bauer, Taranto, MRJ, Vlastuin

Likely Yze changes;
Out: Nank, Dow, Sonsie, Smith
In: Taranto, Graham, Pickett, Vlastuin
Ryan to ruck and get chopped out by Kosi

I agree with most of what you post, but there's no way Grimes is best 22/23 now.

I doubt very much that Broad is either. He just makes too many mistakes. Same goes for McIntosh.

Short is a dead set liability but he will never be dropped. Nor will the others.

Think we roll them next week
Gonna be sick
watch cfl umpires favour them so they can make pendle 400th bigger and keep them in the finals race

gonna be a lot of angry flogs inside afl house if we steal a win from the cfl
