I love how we are all acting like the game was lost early. The fact that we were less than 2 goals down part way into the last quarter says that we had "done enough" all game. Obviously there were some lacklustre performances around the ground, but reality is we weren't that far off the mark. Steady sailing lads. We only have to play Adelaide in Adelaide once a year during H & A season. If we win the rest we are laughing ;)

Roast jr8 I love your work mate all heart and passion but seriously stop trying to snap the ball 45m out with **** all angle use the drop punt
I never understand the bashing of players for electing to kick the ball how they feel comfortable. I think we can back the blokes who train and play as a forward every week to make the decision that suits them best?

First time poster!

Was at the game and had to put up with the cowtard fans booing everything! Seriously the dumbest, one eyed morons going around.

We played like absolute trash reflected in the contested ball count and the lack of pressure! Didn’t help that the umpiring was so one sided! (Yet the cowtard fans still booed)

Despite all this we were 10 points down at early in the last and a few junk time goals blew it out a little. So not overly worried! Learn our lessons and Would rather lose now than when it counts

In: Prestia, Higgins, Tigga
Out: C. Ellis (a corpse has more intensity than he does) Bolton (not ready) Conca (never to be seen again hopefully).

What happened to guys like Miles, Lloyd, Markov and Menadue? When I think of solid fringe, I think of these players.

- Miles is a very reliable ball-winner. The No.1 player I'd include in our team if we have any injuries.
- Lloyd has the goal-smarts and has added midfield to his game now. Produced in the VFL for a while so would like to see what he has at AFL level now.
- Markov would be a mid-sized defender that can do things like intercept-marking and providing us with more run from defence.
- Menadue has explosive pace and has shown some promising signs.

We seriously have an array of depth to choose from but I don't know why we don't go for guys like the ones I mentioned.

OK, I know that Menadue and Markov had off-season injuries, but I am not confident they would be picked even if they were available.

Usually I’d agree mate but 45 m out on the run hardly any pressure and not much angle trying an outside the foot snap that goes out on the full just isn’t good enough

What puzzled me tonight was how many passengers we had when it was our calling card last year. I could name almost half our side who were poor tonight. Full credit to crows but, they worked so much harder and ran us off our feet which is unreal being two players down along with their best midfielder

That was there GF mate .

Ehhh...we were on then we weren’t, then we were on again....and then we weren’t. Few key moments will be highlighted, like Astbury's shank and Shedda's dropped mark but we just weren’t much good to be honest.

Positives
- Dusty.
- Nank, Caddy, Butler toiled hard.
- Rance's second half.
- Shorty is a beauty.
- Cotch having a off game but still laying plenty of tackles. Likewise Jack Graham (that is).
- Grimes keeping Betts goalless was pleasing.
- Edwards was solid. Lambert had a good opening half.

Negatives
- Aurora Coreyellis, bye bye.
- Conca, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
- Composure was average.
- Worst game Jack has played for a while.
- Bolton doesn’t work hard enough. Not sold.
- Caddy might get a week or two.
- Rancey's first half was pretty godawful.
- Bach slow but will take time.
- Lambert has looked not good. Saved last week by the win but after halfway he was unsighted today.
- Towna got a bath.

I maintain that we are too short. We got away with it last year, this year we won’t go back without a second tall - Callum Moore must play next week. He is big, can take a mark, kicks ok and is good at ground level. Against the Blues it was noticeable but tonight it showed hugely every time Hartigan smashed Towna simply because of size.

Conca and C.Ellis will need a miracle to save their careers.

Thank god it’s early in the season because we can work on things now - ie know which players can make the jump from VFL. J.Short is an example.

Overall, we ran into a pretty good Adelaide side and had a bunch of good players choose tonight to have a poor game. Astbury, Rance (first half), Cotch, JR, Lambert, Houli, Towna and Graham were examples - not necessarily awful but not at their best. To be a hit target from a 3point game in the fourth shows how our pressure brand works - but we need a second tall to free Towna, Jack and Nank up a bit, to crash packs and create chances for the little blokes.

So, in:

Prestia (if fit), Vlastuin, C.Moore, Higgins/Lloyd

Out:

C.Ellis, Conca, Bolton, Caddy (susp, I hope not though)

I know I’m being impatient with Bolton but I really don’t rate him. Very exciting but doesn’t give the pressure a small forward should for mine.

- Adelaide Oval is small and favours big tall slow key position players.
- I don’t care about excuses but the umpiring was demented even by AFL standards and that is saying something.
- Even the best teams have the occasional off week but I wouldn’t like to see us serve up that lack of intensity on a regular basis.
- I’m not surprised a few are calling for Cellis head on a platter. The guy just seems to find it very hard to get into the game and have any influence. Disappointing.
- I am surprised more people aren’t calling for Bellis head on a platter. As the guy taking the crucial kick out of half back Bellis is the worst. In all honesty I think I may have nightmares about Bellis disposal tonight.

Grimes played on McGovern and Fogarty this time around. Short was on Betts.

Can’t argue with those outs. Lambo would want to start pulling his socks up

Passengers. Passengers everywhere tonight. Martin and caddy threatened to win it. But too many costly mistakes.

Said it last year and ill say it again. We need to find more of the ball. We are playing a few genuine mids short.

Was a good game to be at for 3 quarters. Umpiring left a lot to be desired. But they just wanted it more tonight. Won the ball at will. We couldnt take a mark often enough.
