If scrim stays deep, brisbane will orchestrate Daniher deep. Scrim will have to come up the field and just stay on Gunston I think. Let sis and blanck take the other talls.

This ^^^

You guys seem to think that we r going to throw Scrim to the wolves. We r not, we defend as a team. We r just asking more from Scrim as senior member i dont think there is anything wrong with that. He plays taller because Sic plays that intercept defender better than Scrim. They will rotate through different players

I'm happy for Scrim to sit on Gunner all day. Scrim knows his game inside out and if even if taken up the ground Scrim has the ability to hurt forward.

This is of course all part of Sam's devious plan...
😈

Good luck to our defenders, I reckon they could be in for a long day. Their team is stacked. Really hope we can pull something out of nothing and win the game or at least be competitive the whole game.

To me blanck goes to Daniher and weddle to hipwood. Hipwood not strong and doesn’t provide much of a threat, so a great option for weddle to run off. Sicily on gunston to intercept. Would love to have seen scrimshaw forward leaving Hardwick to Cameron, impey to McCarthy and Mitchell to Bailey. We also have day and bramble who can play back so we have some flexibility.
We need a second kpd to allow Sicily to roam, which right now is out of frost and DGB. That is why some including me thought he should come in for frost. Blanck DGB Sicily Weddle Impey Hardwick Impey Mitchell would be my 7 with scrimshaw as third forward. I’m keen for weddle to stay back long term, he gives us tall and small flexibility plus there’s more ground for him to gallop and take!

If we win our share of ball in the centre, our defenders will be alright holding there own.

Push Daniher outside 50m and he struggles.

The only thing that I can see with DGB’s non selection is that Sam and the coaching group have probably given the young man a few areas to work on in the twos and he hasn’t achieved them yet. Once he does he will get a block of games …………. and probably at the expense of Frosty as you can’t go with Blanck/Siss/DGB/Frost all at the same time.

Looking forward to going this Sat with my son, no rain forecast, at the G bring it on go Hawks!

A question for the DGB doomers, who does he push out?
I wouldn’t call myself a doomer but a realist. If he’s not getting a game in a bottom 3 side even when Sicily or Frost are missing then there’s a big question on whether he ever fits in Sam’s best 22. Reading the VFL coaches reports it seems to be consistency of effort throughout the 4 quarters that’s holding him back.

I really hope he gets a chance and grabs it as I loved his attack on the ball in his early games.

lol mate ever he is 21 not 28 he still has time and a contract for next year

Why would you play away from home for box hill when guaranteed afl football with the eagles?
Because he wants to be part of something special. He has bought into Sam's vision. Loves his teammates, they are a really close group of players and loves coming to training. Finally and most importantly I don't see him as a quitter who will look for greener pastures just because things are hard. He is tougher and more resilient than that.

If this game was post st kilda win I'd give us a slim chance but there is still to much of a gap between our best and worst. We also look a bit stretched in defence , scrim has never shown any ability 1v1 on bigger opponents so it's an interesting experiment. I miss the days of mcevoy working back in d50, any chance Reeves can put himself in threatening positions for once?. Our big advantage will be our speed they aren't the quickest team across the ground and it's one area we can get them.
