The entire discourse around holding the ball is absolutely shitting me, and seems to be some manufactured controversy to stir content for AFL media.

If you have prior opportunity to dispose, and you don't and you're subsequently tackled - that's holding the ball.

I won't speak to the quality of umpiring for the remainder of the game, but Yeo certainly did not have prior opportunity when he was pinged and ultimately gave them the lead.

It's not hard. Liberal use of "interpretations" of the rules is bullshit and it's killing the game.

Our list actually so bad...without Reid we look hopeless. Ginbey for all the hes a beast etc, he rarely if ever racks up 20+ touches, same with Chesser i dont think hes had one 20+ touches game. Why are we playing Gaff, Sheed etc lol just play Hall

Congrats you won your first game of the season in round 13 against a bottom 3 side with most their good players out injured. Really massive achievement right there. Surely your team will be pumping out grand finals in no time at all. And our senior coach, the one who led us to a premiership win in 2018 is really delusional and needs to be fired

Legit on say weds-fri, everyone takes sets shots at goal from various angles and distances all day, each day. Until they literally can’t stand anymore or the sun goes down, whichever comes first.

Ginbey will be fine, easy to forget how young he is and it’s unfair to compare him to a prodigy like Reid.
He’s developing nicely and gives everything a red hot crack.

Split pick 1 for 2 pick in the top 10 and get 2 quality mids in the draft.

I would much prefer the coaches spent that time, drilling the team on how they should be passing and moving the ball into the forward line.

Pretty basic coaching point to players, I would have thought, if you keep passing wide to the flanks, you increase the degree of difficulty to kick accurately.

Maybe !, just maybe !, the reason we kicked so many *ing points tonight, is because our ball movement into the forward line was shyte.

Also doesn't help that whenever Barrass, Gaff and Duggan kick the ball into the forward line, they just kick it blindly, slamming it on their boot and don't bother looking, either where or to whom they are kicking it.

Fix the ball movement and passing lanes ............. instantly you fix the goal kicking accuracy ............. AFL Coaching 101.

There was one kick tonight that infuriated me. Barrass gets it on the wing, has time and space yet throws it on the boot and it goes to a raffle of 3, yes THREE bloody Roos players.

Just dumb kicks like that all night were annoying when did have opportunities.

Chesser did a lot of good things today, he’s definitely been dropping off in games but had a good first half and then a couple of nice contests in the last.

Just needs to work on consistency throughout games, reckon he went missing from end of the second to start of the 4th.

His hands in close and movement in congestion are genuinely good.

He has a bad fumble a couple times every week. don't think his hands are good at all. plus there's a lot of dump kicks, and even his better kicks are very loopy & give the oppo time to cover off.
Admittedly, he is finding himself near the ball more often now though

Very pissed off with his presser. That pointed out above, and was too weak to complain about the free kick against Yeo. Don't be so bloody weak! Call them out on it. Disgraceful decision!

He wont ever stick up for the club as that will involve him parting with some of his precious money in fines, that hes milked off the club. That money could go to a deposit into another HJ store instead.
