Nash will continue to fly under the radar but he was massive today.

He just continues to bully small midfields and I don't think it's a coincidence how we've dismantled Freo, the Pies and the Crows who just lack someone who can match his size.
His work rate is superb

Scrimshaw and Hardwick were fantastic. Thwarted many kicks forward by winning 1 v 1s and out positioning their opponents. It really deflated them and really set our structure up. They were sublime.

Impey is playing his best footy - just left his opponent for dead multiple times.

The way we draw a player to the ball carrier and then handball to free up a player is beautiful to watch. It's not just a select few either, the whole team can do it. Wonderful coaching.

The Crows were disgraceful late. I'm glad we didn't get an injury. The stomach punch to Moore, the smashing of Watson's head into the turf while he is on the bottom of the pack, the very dangerous late tackle on Jiath. Why no scrutiny from the broadcast team on that period of play from them? Seriously not cool. Actually was symbolic of their play all day, the kick into Sicily's back, the knee into Day's head while he's on the ground, and dirty tactics early try to be 'physical' because they knew they weren't going to be able to go with us, it was clear as day. All over looked, and rather the narrative from the commentary team was actually that we got a free cheapies, despite dominating the inside 50s but getting less frees....

Pretty sure there was a fist to Moore’s face by the boundary too.

Thread Title is most perfect!

Amazing game , the boys dug in deep. I was worried in the first qtr and a half with our effort around the contest but man didn’t we step up.

Actually thought Ward was really important for us when he went into
the middle in the 2nd ? Or 3rd and had some impactful moments when the game was still really up for grabs.

Calsher just continues to impress me so much, his attack on the ball in the air and pressure at ground level is just so important for us, creating so many opportunities.

How much did we really miss Dear, Ginni & Sicily down at Kardinia Park that night? Let’s find out, my ladder predictor last week had us playing the Cats week 1 of finals.

How do you stop something you don’t understand? You can’t ! Our plethora of fast, small players make us impossible to match up on. What a weapon Sam has created!!!

first time since the golden era that I've watched a match 100% sure we would win before the ball was bounced.
It has actually been a long 7-8 years in the wilderness. Feels much longer.
the three summer recruits might be the greatest trade haul in history, given what we gave up for them. Add the experience and culture Gunston brings in, and it would be fair to say we are an 8-10 goal better side.
the summer recruiting of Meek the previous year was an absolute diamond.
Watson is going to be a star, opposition defence already nervous with the ball, and Calsher Dear has come out of absolutely nowhere.
haha, I genuinely thought 6 wins would be a pass for the Hawks this year, nobody, and I mean NOBODY, saw this coming.

The most pleasing thing about the game was that it was such an even team effort. The stats sheet shows that too. Connor McDonald was exceptional and he has become very clean with the ball and certainly is one of our best kicks for goal now. Thought Day was huge all game and the entire midfield worked very hard esp., with their pressure and tackling. Impey and Scrimshaw were instrumental in setting up the win in that third quarter with their intercept and rebound. Great game from both. Thought Jiath was a real presence around the ground throughout the game and Ward was very busy too. Very pleasing to see players growing with each game.
