Still, 7th straight derby win for the Eagles, won a 150th milestone game for Brad Sheppard, 10 goal win, 14-5. Some difficult to watch events in that second half hard for Freo fans, Eagles fans and AFL fans in general.

This is exactly why the AFL has cracked down on players swinging punches, because sometimes people get hurt as a result!

this. players have been playing with fire with these stupid jumper punches and hits to the chest.

at the game vs the saints at optus. i saw hutching go to punch newnes in the chest and collect him straight in the face. decent contact. newnes was shocked and went to the ump, asking WTF!

i have no doubt gaff went the standard pump to chest off the ball and just wasn't looking at what he was punching and just got him flush

still should be a 6 week minimum penalty

Looks like he went to hit him in the chest, Brayshaw moved and it's smashed him in the face instead. I don't think Gaff is necessarily a shit bloke, and he clearly looked shaken up by it, but has only let himself and his team down and will have to pay some pretty harsh consequences.

This is exactly why the AFL needs to stamp out this shit stuff of throwing blows into opposition players chests and stomachs, it can go horribly wrong so easily and cost you dearly.

Hopefully we see Brayshaw back on the field pretty quickly.
