Disappointing loss, especially since the 4 points would’ve all but locked in finals. We had a chance to put the game beyond reach in the third but 28 points was still within touching distance. The boys looked absolutely spent in that last quarter so not sure what more could’ve been done. The lack of pressure in the forward 50 really put us on the back foot .

That said, the way we’ve managed to turn this season around is nothing short of amazing. Very excited for the future regardless of how this season ends.

Weddle on Hogan looked exactly like what it was, a boy playing on a man. I want Barrass just so we can utilise Weddle to his strengths.
Look at his goal, look at his line breaking runs, bring in Serong if we are a man short down back.

Just confirms what we all know - we are missing a KPD, KPF and an elite midfielder and winger.

Barrass solves 2 of those issues, with Weddle moving into the centre.

Correct. Morrison is a better footballer than CJ. McKenzie is also better than Ward and is a lot cleaner.

In terms of the overall development of the team, this loss was one we had to have. I have been a little concerned that some of the players have been getting ahead of themselves, just need to reign the "antics" in a little and concentrate more on the one percenters.

To be honest it felt like that might happen I don’t think we played well most of the day and we’re lucky to be that far in front. Another learning game lots of mistakes in coaching and playing it’s clear that we are a bit off it. Eagles will be happy that almost certainly made Barrass trade price go up. we cant play weddle on hogan that was farcical. i dont know what ward is im really worried now that its 2 top 10 busts. Can’t play Breust and Gunston together how many times before they get it. GWS walked it out in the last quarter and we were forced into the chipping game early as they had the long kick covered with 3 interceptors against Chol.
Failure is feedback as Ross would say and that’s 2 very strong pieces. When viewed with that lens and that we were meant to be bottom 4 these games whilst hard now are potentially extremely valuable.

We gave up so many easy goals. Weddle gave up a number, Hogans first with Scrim nowhere near him, giving up dumb 50’s or silly frees. We also let them get way to much space outside the contest.

Which are signs that the team wasn’t switched on enough. Don’t give up those easy goals and they don’t get close to us even though we weren’t near our best.
