If the game has moved on and his voice has become stale why have we made the prelim for the last two years? Doesn’t that go against your entire argument? Hinkley out coached Bevo in round 23, Bevo came back on fire last night - he messed with our heads. I say “our“ because it wasn’t just the fans and players that thought we had it in the bag, just listen to Montgomery in the press last week.

Of course he has a baseline of competence. To be able to run an AFL team requires that. Equally, a master motivator and/or tactician doesn't make two home prelims with zero grand final appearances to show for it. We have underperformed based on our list and talent profile, and on that basis he should be evaluated.

I mean, Hawthorn has moved on from Clarko before we have with our bloke FFS. A four-time premiership coach! Has he become any worse of a coach? No, the reality is the correct change can be the impetus for success.

They gave him an extension after the elimination final loss to west coast. ...
I said after Hinkley was given that premature and totally undeserved contract extension in 2017 that I did not believe Hinkley was capable of taking us to a flag.

To think I thought he was about to prove me wrong.

The question though (is)who would be the next coach. ...
No it isn't.

If the club took that approach Primus would still be coaching us.

Once the club has rid itself of Hinkley an exhaustive search for a new coach can start. Until you start seriously looking you don't know who is out there.

Clarkson just got himself a 12 month Hawfs-sponsored holiday. He's not parachuting into a high pressure gig tomorrow when in a year he could get the red carpet rolled out for a last-ditch effort to save Gold Coast from their own ineptitude where if he fails the rhetoric will be "not even the great Alastair Clarkson could save them".
Yeah, forget Clarko. Buckley is the one. He'll still be driven by unfinished business.

It is now untenable and morally wrong for hinkley to remain as head coach of this club. If he fails to do so his character has to be seriously questioned!

Given the fact that he will not fall on his sword and go means that his open evident handsomely rewarded failure will continue to instill
into the fabric of the PAFC a culture of defeat that will shape the fruitless pursuit that dogs many of the mediocre clubs around!

Koch who is the architect of this mentality must fall on his sword to.

Something has to happen at this club and if it dosent start at the top then it should be happening at the bottom or this garbage will continue to be delivered!

Let’s just get rid of Ken and throw the kitchen sink at Alastair Clarkson already! It’d be short term loss (Clarksons contract and Kens undeserving pay out) for long term gain (an almost inevitable period of success), with that comes guaranteed stability and profits. Our board has to take the hard road instead of being passive and taking the safe route all the time

You are right. But people need to know he is not walking. He will take every last $ he can.

I hate to says it lads but he made preliminary final. Lost 6 games all year. Cannot see him getting sacked for that. I dunno who to blame more the coach or the players. The players were as bad.

^ this is, unfortunately, the opinion of about 80% or the supporter base.

He can't prepare teams mentally for big games he's far more to blame, he's a trainwreck.

Gerard Whateley will say that we are pariahs for wanting Hinkley out, we’ve had a great year, we would be nowhere without Ken, we should just be happy to exist etc etc etc.
**** Whateley. His voice is given far too much respect and importance and he drives these unilateral agendas, that are often not reflective of the typical supporter in the outer.

Yep its not us, and thank fu** its not geelong.

I'll probably form an opinion on who I want to win in the next fortnight, but really this will just go down in history as one of Port's greatest ever missed opportunities, if not the greatest ever.
It’s one thing to bugger up an opportunity- as we did in 2014 and 2020. It’s another to be absolutely obliterated and never come back into the game. I tell you, we will have another ten years of PTSD from that.
