I'm still picking my jaw off the floor that Hinkley is just 55. He's not much older than me and i could almost pass for his son.

Must admit I would have added a few more on too. Having said that, a lot of people are amazed when they find out how old I am - vanity prevents me from pursuing it any further than that

Imagine for a moment that a budget was floated to payout Ken and get in Clarkson (or similar) including all the associated assistant movements required, and the AFL rejected it. Do you think we’d know about it?

I don’t. I think they’d go back and set a more conservative budget getting us to the end of 2023, when Ken’s contract runs out.

Yes. Loving that they're talking about him going and the attempts to justify him staying are becoming more sad and desperate. It's almost enjoyable.

We've from..."he's got a great win loss %," to "if ports not careful theyll risk losing him to another club" (lol, sure, we can only dream), to now, "but there is no infighting at the club and the players will be sad he leaves".

What's next? I honestly can't think of anything more pathetic. We're at the bottom of the barrel, although I'm sure Kane's still got a way to go.

Kane Cornes is just pure trouble. Always put himself before club, now putting his brother and Hinkley before club. The more i think about this the more i think it's pure and utter nonsense.

If there are 3 players that would prefer to keep Ken over Clarkson I'd be amazed and even then it would be self interest over what's best for the team.

I doubt we'll even know whether he's sacked or decides to walk, and, as long as he finishes up this year, I don't really care. The club will say it was either a mutual decision or Ken's decision purely out of respect, and I don't have a problem with that. It's the end result that matters.

We are better off without any player that requests a trade because Hinkley is no longer coaching Ports. It shows that Hinkley's accepting of mediocrity has made them soft and that they have bought into his loser culture.

If there are players unhappy with Hinkley leaving they can follow him.

Every other club is allowed to sack coaches including coaches much poorer than us. If Koch asks to sack Hinkley (if he even has to), it will be approved. The AFL approval is a red herring.
